From: R.Wettinuny
Re: Ordering Supplies

There has been a great deal of confusion regarding the correct procedures or ordering office supplies.
Therefore, I will explain the proper steps to follow here. First, all requests for supplies must be typed and
signed. Only typed requests will be accepted because I am tired of trying to decipher illegible
handwriting. Second, all requests must be on my desk by the fifteenth of every month. I make out the
order once each month and do not want to have to make addendums or extra orders. From now on, late
requests will be put on hold until the following month. Requests that are received on time and approved
by me will be sent on to the Accounting Department for processing.

Please be aware that it takes from two to six weeks for supplies to arrive once the order has been
made, so it is important to plan ahead and make your requests accordingly.

Your cooperation is appreciated.

Re: Meeting follow-up
We agreed in our meeting that you need to improve your office skills in order to perform
your job duties adequately. I have attached a schedule of classes from the Business Training
Institute. A number of your co-workers have taken classes there, and it has a fine reputation.
Take a look at the 105 courses. I think you should sign up for 105A. Even though you have a
little experience here, it never hurts to start again from the beginning. Word Processing would
also be useful, and I think you would qualify for the 101B course. Bookkeeping might be a good
idea, too, but Id prefer you sign up for just two courses now. Theres no sense in overburdening
yourself. So in addition to 105A, you can choose between 101B and 106A. The company will
take care of the entire tuition for you, so you need have no worries there.

2009 Bear Circle,
Daviston, KS 23334
May 5th
Dear Sirs,
I recently purchased a new car battery at the Daviston branch of Advance Autoparts. The
mechanics installed this battery for me and I drove home. Once I arrived home, 1 read the receipt
which I had been given. I noticed that there seemed to be some additional charges. I was charged
for the following:

1 1. car battery 5. Reconnection of cables

2 2 Battery installation 6. Disposal of old battery
3 3 Cable corrosion check 7. Mechanic's service fee
4 4 Cable cleaning 8. Tax

I feel that it is rather excessive to charge a separate fee for items 2 and 5.
Connecting the cables is merely part of the installation process. I also feel that it is
inappropriate to have charged an additional mechanic's fee-surely I am already paying the
mechanic in item 2 for the installation.

Finally, I would have appreciated knowing in advance that I would be charged for disposal of
the old battery. Had I known this, I would have liked to have taken it for disposal myself, since
the public garbage disposal site does NOT charge a fee.

Perhaps Advance Autoparts would like to consider giving customers a breakdown of costs
before carrying out repairs. I, for one, would probably not have used your services had I known
exactly what I would be charged for.

Yours faithfully,
Ted Varani
