Christmas In Crestwood Lights Up Holidays
Residents invited
to get into the
holiday spirit
beginning Dec. 1
Christmas in Crestwood is once
again lighting up the city with color and
cheer for the holidays while connecting
people with the towns businesses.
Holiday Tree Decorating Contest
Discover Crestwoods businesses
during the annual Crestwood Holiday
Tree Decorating Contest which runs
Dec. 1-25 and be eligible to win prizes.
This year 104 Crestwood businesses are
participating by decorating a Christmas
tree for the contest. Last year 94
businesses participated by decorating
trees in holiday finery.
Shoppers are invited to visit some or
all of the businesses. While there, rate
the stores tree and be entered into a
weekly drawing for a gift basket chock
full of goodies from local merchants.
Last years gift baskets were valued at
over $600 each.
By rating the holiday trees, shoppers
are helping choose which business will
win the Peoples Choice award. Last
year, the Peoples Choice, High Foot
Traffic went to Culvers; the Peoples
Choice, Medium Traffic to Charmette
Academy of Dance & Acrobatics;
andPeoples Choice, Low Traffic to
Watson Dental Associates

Crestwood Holiday Lights House
Decorating Contest
Homeowners are invited to decorate
their home for the holidays and enter
the Crestwood Holiday Lights House
Decorating Contest which runs Dec 1 -
30.
Each contestant will receive a yard
sign with the contestants number and
the address will be listed on a register
of contestants. A winner from each
ward will be announced on Dec. 18; each
winner will receive a trophy. The four
ward winners will then compete for the
Grand Prize trophy and $500.
Crestwood residents are invited to
vote for their favorite decorated house
in their ward, and then vote again
as the wards compete for the grand

Christmas in Crestwood
Kick-Off
Santa will officially kick-off this years
Christmas in Crestwood celebration on
Saturday, Dec. 2, from noon to 2 p.m.
Santa will make his grand entrance at
noon on a fire engine and will open the
doors to City Hall, located at 1 Detjen
Drive. The first 175 children will receive
a fun gift bag full of goodies from local
businesses.

The decorations at city hall, created
by local elementary school students,
along with holiday music and cookies,
make for a fun and festive afternoon.

and see furry friends from Crestwood
Animal Shelter.
Car Show and Fireworks
The celebration continues on Dec.
2 with the 2nd Annual Christmas in
Crestwood Car Show and Fireworks.
After greeting guests at city hall,
Santa will take to the streets at 2 p.m.
for the 2nd Annual Classic Santa Car
Cruise. Youngsters are invited to line
the streets as he cruises Crestwood.
Santa will be in a classic Willys Jeepster
greeting children along the way as he

Festivities For Young & Young At Heart
Area residents are sure to get
into the holiday spirit with the
myriad of festivities planned by local
communities and organizations. They

Sunset Hills
Light up Sunset Hills this holiday
season by entering the Sunset Hills
Holiday Lighting Contest. Enter a
home, business or even a neighbor
by calling the Sunset Hill Parks and
Recreation Office at 314-842-7265.
Homes and businesses will be judged
by the parks board on Monday, Dec. 11.
Please be sure lights are on that evening
by 6 p.m.
Santa Claus will host a Breakfast
on Saturday, Dec. 16, from 9 to 11 a.m. at
Sunset Hills Community Center, 3915
S. Lindbergh Blvd. Breakfast will be
provided by Chick-fil-A Sunset Plaza.
After breakfast attendees will have the
opportunity to take pictures with Santa.

Fenton
The city of Fenton is helping Santa
with his mail this season. Residents can
pick up a blank Letter to Santa sheet
from the front desk at RiverChase, 990
Horan Drive. The young or young at
heart can also include a Christmas list
in their own letter.
Santa will send a personalized
letter back. Be make sure to include a
return address. Letters need to be sent
between Nov. 27 and Dec. 15 so Santa
has enough time to write back. Letters
can be dropped off at Santas Fenton
mailbox at RiverChase, or mail them to
Chestnuts Roasting on an Open FIre...

Affton Historical Society is once
again hosting its annual Santa House
beginning Saturday, Dec. 2, at Oakland
House, 7801 Genesta in Affton.
Each visit includes story time and
puppet show, a visit with Santa in the
Victorian parlor, and a home-baked
cookie from Mrs. Claus. Craft items will
also be for sale. Bring a camera. The cost
is $4 per person, cash or check.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on
Saturdays and Sundays, Dec. 2-3 and
9-10. No reservations are required.
Santa House will also be open Dec.
6-8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Reservations
are needed for weekday visits. For

Laying Out Tracks
For Holiday Fun
The National Museum of
Transportation is laying out tracks for
holiday fun beginning Friday, Nov. 24.
The E. Desmond Lee Holiday Train
Exhibit opens on Friday, Nov. 24, at 9
a.m. and runs through Dec. 30. This is
the regions largest indoor holiday train
exhibit and includes the former Famous
Barr/Macys display from downtown St.
Louis.
On Friday, Nov. 24, and Saturday,
Dec. 9, Santa will arrive with live
reindeer. Hell greet visitors on Nov. 24
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Dec. 9 from
noon to 4 p.m.
On Saturday, Nov. 25, at 10 a.m.
(weather permitting, rain date Nov. 26
at noon), Santa will arrive by helicopter
and will greet visitors until 2 p.m. Santa
will also visit with youngsters on Dec. 2
and 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
