Progressive Engineering college was established during the academic year 2002-03

with approval of AICTE, New Delhi (Vide letter No.730-50-392 E/ET/dated 9th June
2002) and recognition of the Government of Andhra Pradesh (vide G.LO. M.S. No.
39dated25.06.2002).
The institution is affiliated to Jawaharal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, AP,

INDIA (Vide letter A2/ Affi/ Progressive /dated 28.08.2003/2003-03)and is sponsored
by SRK Memorial Educational Society, Hyderabad.
The college is located at CHEEKATI MAMIDI Village of Bommala Ramaram Mendel,
Nalgaonda District. It is established in a land of 26 acres with total built-up area as on
March 2007 of 2, 70,000 sqft.
The class rooms, laboratories, library and common amenities such as Canteen
Play grounds, Indoor games ,Internet ,Coffee shops ,WORKSHOPS, Auditorium
etc., are designed in spacious rooms with good ventilation and hygienic
atmosphere. It is well connected by road to Hyderabad, via ECIL, Kushaiguda
and Keesara and is about 24 km from ECIL junction. The management members
of the college have excellent educational background. The Society is headed
by Sri M. Uma Maheswara Rao as President and Mrs.M.Sharada as Secretary and
Correspondent. They have successfully organized the following courses in
Hyderabad since 1992 viz., MBA, MCA, M.Sc (Comp.), B.sc, B.com, B.A. and
coaching for GATE, UPSC etc competitive examinations.

The college is headed by Prof. Dr. SADASIVAN.T.VEETIL as


Principal. He has 23 years of teaching experience and 10 years
of Industrial experience in the Army, Ministry of Defense, and Govt. of India. He
has also worked two years under JNTU as Principal. He is ably assisted by Heads
of various departments, Faculty, technical and non-teaching staff of the college,
in the Success full functioning of the College.
Dr. V.M.Rao. Former Principal, CBIT, Hyderabad, AP, INDIA and Presently the
Hon. Director, ACE Educational Academy, Hyderabad has been the
visiting Professor of ECE and Advisor for the college forms the inception.
Dr. H. V. Makthal, Former Professor and Head of the department of EEE, OU, and
Hyderabad has been the founder Heave of LEE of our college. He is instrumental
in the development of laboratories of EEE Department. He has been working as
Professor of EEE and has been teaching Electro Mechanics in the EEE Branch.
Dr. N.C.Jagan, former Professor of EEE, Osmania University and author of books
on network theory, control systems etc., he has been working as professor of EEE
and teaches network theory to our students from different states of India.

We have a widely spaced two drawing halls of area of 1525 sqft each to accommodate at
least 60 students each by the total 120 students at a time.

3. To keep abreast of latest technological advancements and several transactions,
journals and magazines in various fields of engineering are being subscribed for also,
the book- bank section of our library supplies books to our sc/st students

Work shops

Carpentry, fitting, forging (black smithy), foundry, tin smithy ,welding, brazing soldering
Plumbing, electrical house wiring, moulding, foundry, mectronics hobby section.

Seminars and conferences


Our students are actively participating in the seminars/ Conferences/ symposiums/ quizzes at
both state and National levels
Technical paper presentation
Several technical papers have been presented by our students at various platforms
with guidance from experienced professors of our college

Industrial Training
As part of industrial training programmes, students of CSE, and ECE branches have
underwent industrial training at ECIL, BEL etc.

Sports and Games


Our students have participated in several competitions in games such as cricket, Basketball
at intercollegiate and university levels.

Awards
Gold medals are being presented by the management to the students standing first in each
branch every year.

Student Associations
ECE and CSE departments have inaugurated departmental associations to provide competitive
and challenging atmosphere to the students. These associations also play a major role in molding

the students for preparation of Competitive examinations, Group discussions, Interviews and
personality development.

OTHER FACILITIES

Canteen:
Canteen is provided in a hall with area of 1650 sft in the college to provide healthy and food
items of South- North, NORTH – EASTREN varieties of foods ON ORDER BASED PHENOMENON.

Transport: Our college buses ply from several corners of the city such as Dilshuknagar,
RAmanthapur, JNTU, Kukatpally, Ameerpet, Neredmet etc. Also a valid student bys pass
concession code is allotted to the college by APSRTC, which enabled the students to reach the
college by APSRTC buses on confessional rate of bus fares.

Hostel: Hostel facility being provided at an appropriate location either in the campus or in a
residential area near campus on demand by the students/ parents.

Training & Placement Cell: The College is established a TRAINING AND PLACEMET CELL with a
dedicated officer- in- charges of all the concerned departments to attracted and invited various
leading industries to our campus for recruitment. This cell was being succeeded in helping the
students to have an respectable positions in various multi national companies and proudly
functioning with the the appreciations of a lot of tycoons of the industry of present market
demands of HR of the present scenario inaugurated soon as our I batch students are entering in
IV year I semester during July 2005.

Scholar ship Cell:


The cell facilitates S. C., S.T., and B. C., students for the sanction fo scholarships, tuition fee,
special fee, development fee and exam fee from the respective departments of the Government
of Andhra Pradesh. The cell obtains the required proceedings from time to time. The cell
also arranges to procure book bank grant/ books from social welfare department for the benefit
of S. C & S. T students as per the requirements.

Co- Curricular & Extra Curricular Activates:


In order to explore the hidden talents of our students, several co-curricular and extra-curricular
activities are being organized during the academic year. This makes the students to fit
themselves physically and mentally face competitive environment

Guest Lectures
To impart state-of-the -art knowledge to the students, several eminent academicians, Scientists
and Successful Industrialists are being invited to deliver lectures
