(*To find if the user name belongs to the group with the "Computer
administrator" user account, open the [User Accounts] window from the
[Control Panel] and refer to the section beneath the user name being
displayed.)

-Notes on using the software with Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004 /
Windows XP Media Center Edition / Windows XP Professional / Windows XP Home

the cable. Your computer may not work properly or the data inside the IC
recorder may be damaged.
If a communication error occurs, the message "Could not communicate with IC
recorder." is displayed and the communication process may terminate. If this
occurs, disconnect and then connect the cable with the IC recorder.
If the message "Could not communicate with IC recorder." is displayed while
connecting the IC recorder, check the following:

1 When using an external hub, connect the IC recorder directly to the computer.
2 Disconnect and then connect the cable with the IC recorder.
3 When your computer is equipped with multiple USB ports, connect the IC
recorder to another USB port.

Depending on the type of the computer, you may not be able to start your
computer when it is being connected to the IC recorder. If this occurs,
change the boot sequence setting in the BIOS of your computer to start from
the hard disk. Or disconnect the IC recorder and then restart your computer.
For how to change the BIOS settings, see the manual of your computer.

-Notes on system standby/hibernate mode

While the computer is communicating with the IC recorder, do not let your
computer change to system standby/hibernate mode. Prevent settings that
automatically make such changes.
If your computer enters into system standby/hibernate mode while being
connected to the IC recorder, the computer may fail to communicate with the
IC recorder immediately after system recovery. In this case, disconnect and
then connect the IC recorder.

-Note on formatting
To format the IC recorder or the "Memory Stick", make sure to use the
formatting function of the IC recorder. If you format it in your computer,
the IC recorder is unable to recognize the contained data. In this case,
use the IC recorder to format it again. For details, see the operating
instructions of the IC recorder. The IC recorder ICD-BP series does not

Before sending an e-mail message, make sure to check the total attachment
file size.
