Child safety resources for the Spanish-speaking
Nearly 800,000 children are reported missing to law
enforcement each year. One in five is Hispanic. But,
by working together we can help reduce the incidents
of missing and exploited children in Hispanic commu-
nities across the United States. The commitment to
help our children transcends ethnicity, reflects American spirit, and is
nobly exemplified in the Hispanic community. The National Center for
Missing & Exploited Children offers easy-to-use safety resources in
English and Spanish to help parents and guardians protect children.

Baptisms
We offer private, group Baptisms and Baptisms during
Mass. Our next Baptism Preparation class will be held in
the parish office on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 4
pm. Baptism is a gateway to all the other sacraments.
Christ calls and welcomes our new family members into our
Church. It is a public declaration of love and commitment of the
parents and godparents. The children are initiated into the com-
munity, in the midst of the community, by the community. Please

RCIA {Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults},
Adult Confirmation, Adult Faith Formation.
This program welcomes all who are interested in con-
tinuous spiritual and faith formation. It is also for those
who are missing certain sacraments. It is a formative
rite to become fully initiated into our Catholic faith. It
is a spiritual journey for adults to experience many forms of God’s
grace. Our spirituality blossoms when we align our spirits with God.
Our first session will start on September 23, 2010.Thanks to the
following speakers who will be giving presentations on various in-
spiring topics: Fr. Paul, Dn. Tom, Fr. Patrick, Fr. Donie, Galen Gen-
try, and Jorge Maza.

Our beautiful church and parish hall are available
for commercial, television, or film shooting. If you

Teenage Confirmation
Don’t forget to enroll your teenagers, eighth
grade or older, in our Confirmation program. It is
the next step in completing the Sacraments of
Initiation. Confirmation here at St. Timothy is a
two year process. Understanding a sacrament
does not begin with the ritual, it begins with
preparation and catechesis. Through this sacra-
ment, they are commissioned to spread the Gospel and build up the
Church, the Body of Christ. The confirmed person is empowered by the
Holy Spirit to witness to the faith by living out the Gospel message.
Our Confirmation candidates will meet once a month on Sundays from
10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Please call Deborah at the rectory for registra-
tion information.
Volunteers needed in our Religious
Education programs!
Be a teacher and help to spread the Gospel and
share our faith with our children! We need cate-
chists to teach preschool to teenagers in our
Religious Education programs. Please call Deb-
orah at the rectory or her cell at 310-871-9022.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word
We welcome all our children to join us in this wonderful year
round program. Your children will be invited at the beginning
of our 9:00 a.m. Mass to a fun and delightful journey to learn
more about Christ and His Church. All children are welcome
to bring non- perishable food and join in our gift procession.
Thanks to Barbara LaBrier, our catechist and Michelle Morri-
son for their continuous support for this year round program.
Shower the Unborn
Respect Life Month is coming up in October. We
need donations of wrapped baby gifts for newborns
to six months to assist the new moms at Saint
Anne’s Maternity Home. Please label the gifts with
a tag indicating the age and gender of the child.
New items such as clothing, blankets and toys, etc.
would be much appreciated for this wonderful cause. Please
drop-off the gifts at the Rectory. Please do not hesitate to call

Sunday School
We will have an exciting year of Religious Education
Programs starting again in September! We welcome all
children from pre-school to 8th grade to be a part of
this fun, spiritual, and educational program that contrib-
utes to their religious upbringing. Our children need to continue their
faith formation after their First Communion. In fact, we all have a
lifelong journey of continuous conversion, formation, and discipleship.
Families will participate in excursions, retreats and community out-
