Function Test of Service Channels (AUX)

Description: This test gives the steps required the test the AUX-channels of the NE.
The following item will be tested:

1. Function test of Service channels (AUX)

Test equipment: Digital analyzer for slow bit rates, Multimeter, LTC/NTC

Tested position:________________

Remark: This test is only done as field test if the AUX channels are connected to a
distributor.

Mark the tested AUX type:

Bitrate of AUX channel:__________________

Step Procedure Expected Result Result Comply

(Y/N)
1 If necessary perform desired cross-
connection from AUX-port to any SDH-port or
line and loop the SDH-port with an external
loop.
2 When testing V.11 channels in synchronous
mode then connect in transmit direction
data and clock. In receive direction only
data should be connected.

3 When testing V.11 in asynchronous mode or

G.703 only data connections are used
4 Analyzer setup:
1. Choose the appropriate interface-setting.
When testing V.11 in synchronous mode set
clock to external. In all other cases set it to
internal.
5 Test the AUX channel with a PRBS11 -no bit errors and slips
6 Test the AUX channel with a pattern 0101 -no bit errors and slips

Function Test of EOW

Description: This test gives the steps required to test the EOW function.

Test equipment: LCT/NCT

Tested position: _____________

Step Procedure Expected Result Result Comply

(Y/N)
1 Enter in every NE a unique EOW-telephone
number (three digits).
2 Perform an OH-cross-connection from E1 or
E2 Byte of the desired line- /trib side to
conference-bus. Do this at all concerned
NEs in the line/ring.
3 Test calling and speaking. Calling and speaking is possible.
Every handset in the line can be
connected to the conference-bus
by pressing # on the handset.

4 If using a ring configuration the E1/E2 byte of Calling and speaking is possible.
one line/trib side in the ring has to be cross- Every handset in the line can be
connected to RM (ring manager) instead of connected to the conference-bus

The following item will be tested:

Testing of distributor connections

Test equipment: LCT/NCT; SDH/PDH analyzer

Tested positions:________________
Step Procedure Expected Result Result Comply
(Y/N)
1 Configure NE with IF2M PDH trib as
required and adjust internal loops via the
switching fabric on the appropriate VC-level
for every channel which has to be tested.
(see Experimental arrangement)

2 If the NE is equipped with line cards then

perform a cross-connection (only one
channel) to the appropriate line side and
loop the line side.
Use 10dB attenuation if looping an optical
signal.
This is necessary to test the line side locally.
