kerosene and whiting first used by railroad inspectors near the turn of the
20th century. Today's penetrants are carefully formulated to produce the

An interesting note about the sensitivity levels is that only four levels were
originally planned. However, when some penetrants were judged to have
sensitivities significantly less than most others in the level 1 category, the
