The solution to the problems of discharging bulk materials

Storage, mixing and discharge of bulk materials with average When fitting-out large silo areas with aeration units, it is
particle sizes of less than 0.1 mm frequently causes problems advantageous to divide them into sectors each of which can be
because these bulk materials do not flow freely and therefore are interchangeably aerated. The sectors can be arranged in a radial
almost impossible to discharge. They tend to agglomerate and form pattern or laid out concentrically starting from an inner ring.
bridges and tunnels, particularly around the silo outlet, thereby
obstructing the free flow of the material from the storage vessel.
Such low flowable materials include fine plastic powders, flour,

pigments, soot, cement, pesticides etc. These bulk materials are very
difficult to discharge without some sort of discharge aid.
A proven solution to such problems is the fluidization of the bulk
materials using pneumatic aerating units made from highly porous
SIPERM-materials. These aeration units ensure continuous flow of
materials at the precise points in vessels where problems occur. Compressed

SIPERM. Dry, dust-free air is injected to reduce the friction and low air quantities. In many cases it is sufficient to compensate the
cohesive forces of the bulk material, producing a continuous flow pressures produced during storage of the bulk material by the

The solution to the problems of discharging bulk materials

The SIPERM-aeration components are available in the

following materials:
SIPERM-R : Stainless steel AISI 316L
SIPERM-HP: Polyethylene
SIPERM-B: Bronze

Figs. 3 and 4 show inserts made from SIPERM-HP. The supporting

ribs and spacer cams are to provide support and maintain a
clearance between the inserts and the silo bottom.
Ready-to-install aeration pads (Fig. 5) are supplied complete with all
the necessary hardware (seal, washer, nut). They are ideally suited Fig. 5: aeration pads and spot made from SIPERM

for installation in places where access is limited or difficult.

The SIPERM-R-spots have a diameter of 100 mm. The pads are
available as standard in sizes of 125 x 250 mm and 125 x 500 mm.
Of course we also manufacture pads in special sizes.

If you have any aeration problems, please do not hesitate to

contact us. We will be glad to advise you.
