Campus involvement provide many advantages to college students in

there time at school. There is hundreds of opportunities provided both
through the school and the community as a whole. As great as campus
involvement is though several students struggle in finding something
they fit or having the ability to create a new group. Transfer students
also have a similar issue but with a little research this can change!

GREEK LIFE BENEFITS

college experiences. It has shown More understanding of different ideas
that 48% of U.S. Presidents were *Cultures

COMMUNITY
INVOLVEMENT
Many campus organizations and groups
give back to the community that
supports then. Each RSO on campus is
required to preform 30 service hours
each year. (ESU, 2017) Via interview of a
fellow greek student the one of the
preformed RSO by Sigma Phi Epsilon is
36 hours alone, where money is raised
for three different organizations.
FACULTY
SUPPORT
Faculty support for student involvement is
important because it shows that the
professors care about what is going in the
university. The professors should make an
effort to advertise group activities in their
classes. Faculty advisors in groups gives
the students more opportunity to learn
about a subject since that professor
probably has a background in the group
subject.

TRANSFER STUDENT FORMING NEW

INVOLVEMENT

Students transferring from a two Forming new groups on college

year college to a four year institution
commonly experience a transfer
shock. Resulting in lower academic
success and hardier social

experience. At Emporia State
University the process of forming a
new group starts with find an advisor,
petitioning to have 40 members join
and then filling out necessary
paperwork. (ESU, 2017)
