PHOENIX,Ariz.DanielAdelmanhasbeenselectedasthenewExecutiveDirectorforthe
ArizonaCenterforLawinthePublicInterestbytheorganizationsBoardofDirectors.Adelman
willofficiallytakeoverfromTimHogan,whohasledtheCenterfor26years,inearly2018.

WhiletheBoardknewfindingareplacementforTimHoganwouldbetoughgivenhis
remarkablesuccessastheCenter'sExecutiveDirector,afteranexhaustivesearchwefoundthe
idealsuccessorinDannyAdelman,saidStacyGabriel,thePresidentoftheACLPIBoardand
ChairofthesearchcommitteethatrecommendedAdelman.Dannypossessesand
embodiestherarecombinationofexceptionallegalskills,tenacity,strategicvisionand
compassiontocontinueandbuildonTim'sandtheCenter'slegacyoffightingforsocial
justicethrougheffectivelegaladvocacy.

Adelman,agraduateoftheArizonaStateUniversityCollegeofLaw,hasservedontheACLPI
boardformorethan20yearsandwasafoundingpartneratAdelmanGerman,alawfirm
representingindividualsinmedicalmalpractice,productliability,wrongfuldeath,andother
catastrophicinjurycases.

Forthepast30years,Ivetriedtohelppeopleachievesomemeasureofjustice.Ineachcase,
however,Iwashelpingonepersonoronefamily.ToserveastheExecutiveDirectorofthe
CenterwillprovidetheuniqueopportunitytoseekjusticeforhugenumbersofArizonasmost
vulnerableresidentswhootherwisewouldhavenovoice.Icannotimagineanygreaterhonor,
oranygreatercalling,saidAdelman.TheCenterhasdonesomuchforArizonaspublic
schools,forthementallyill,forfosterchildren,andfortheenvironment.Icannotwaitto
continuetobuildonthatlegacy.

ImincrediblypleasedthattheBoardhasselectedDannyasthenextExecutiveDirector,
Hogansaid.Itshardtoimagineabetterselection.TheCenterwillbeinextremelycapable
handswithDannyatthehelm.

TheCentercurrentlyhasseveralhighprofilecasespendingincludingasuitagainstthestateof
Arizonaforinadequatelyfundingpublicschools;asuitagainsttheEnvironmentalProtection
AgencyovercleanairstandardsthatispendingintheUnitedStatesSupremeCourt;andaclass
actioncaseagainstthestateformistreatmentoffosterchildreninitscustody.Itrecently
prevailedbeforetheArizonaSupremeCourtinitsfighttopreserveMedicaidfundinginthe
state.

TheArizonaCenterforLawinthePublicInterestisanonprofitlawfirmthatadvocatesforciviland
humanrights,assuringthatallArizonanshaveaccesstoqualityhealthcare,strongpublicschools,
opengovernment,fairelections,andaccesstopubliclandsandnaturalresources.Whileadvocatingfor
theunderrepresentedandtheworkingpoor,thoselackingthepowerormoneytofightforthemselves
legally,theCenterhasneverchargeditsclientsforservices.
