Subject: Internship

At first, I was trying to find different internships for teachers online, when that
failed I went to an instructor who works for Albuquerque public schools he then
instructed that in the teaching filled there are few internships offered. The
internship I can use is as an AVID tutor that is viewed as a paid internship. When
trying to find more opportunities I decided to go to my advisor. The advisor told
me the process on how to get into the duel license program in education. I also
found out about the substitute/ student teaching position in which is also required
to graduate from the program.
When applying for the college of education it is not competitive but it is quite a
process. The most difficult part of entering the duel license program is passing the
NES exams. This program is rated a 1 because it is absolutely the program I want
to get in and work towards. The second program I reviewed is the student teaching
program in this process what is required is completing what is needed in the
college of education. The more needed is completing general observations and as
well as completing certain classes. This program is also rated a 1 for me because it
is also something needed for me to graduate as a teacher. These programs are
interred twined and to student teach we must get into that college first.
I believe I am an ideal candidate for the college of education especially for the duel
licenses program. The things that are going to make it hard to getting into the
college is the NES. They are the hardest part of getting into the college of
education. The NES consist of multiple tests that measure your academic standing.
It is mainly like taking the ACT over again only harder. In every other category in
excel except in these tests. For student teaching the hardest part is going to be
looking for a place to student teach that fits with your schedule. Aside from these I
feel as if I can have a big chance into making these programs.
The factors in these applications Dont minimize me into not wanting to drop the
applications. The plan is to get into both and can graduate with my teaching
degree. There are no factors that would keep me from doing these programs.
In my video, everyone viewed it as great video. Some feedback I received was not
to wear sleeveless shirts along with also not saying my age. In another peer editing
they said the background is too busy and using words like think and kids are
unprofessional and should be replaced with different words, along with not having
enough information about job experience. I may have to disagree with the talking
about my grades because I am applying to the college of education where grades
and GPA are a main factor into getting in. My view on my video was that it could
have been more well throughout. The word umm and I think is filled in a lot
because I am unsure on what to say.
The response I was expecting was more about what my presentation looked like
because the video was not the best yet is seemed as if it was natural and not
rehearsed. The most surprising feedback was about my clothes and talking about
my age. Usually when I sit in a job interview they ask me my age because I look
young. It was surprising to find out that interviewers are not allowed to do that.
Lastly something also interesting is the background because no one usually pays
attention to the background and only to the speaker. In the video, I did seem
nervous because I was unsure what to say. My tone of voice was loud and clear it
sounded strong a confident.
I was not aware that there were multiple colors in my shirt or how that may be to
distract. The overall video seemed to be good but as they went to easy on me when
writing on my peer sheet. It was too much to realize then that I needed them to be
as harsh as they can when peer reviewing. Due to that my grade got lower than it
should have been. My reflection was also shorter than it should have bee. When I
was originally trying to write what I was thinking about everything I would need to
write. After making changes I still didnt revise enough after my peer editing as I
should have and still got a lower grade than expected.
