1 General
This document describes the Painting Specification for STG piping between systems.
Package system / Equipment and Fire Fighting system are not included in this specification.

2 Application
2.1 Piping
Refer to Attached Painting Specification List

2.2 Specialties (Valve, Strainer, Trap, Strainer etc...)


Interior Surface : Remove all dirt, grease, oil at Manufacturers Shop
Exterior Surface (primer) : Manufacturers Standard at Manufacturers Shop
Final Coat : Apply for Piping system at Site

2.3 Actuator for Motor valve


The painting system shall be in accordance with Paint Code TP-V01.

2.4 Pipe Hanger & Support Parts ( Except for Structural parts)
The painting system of following parts shall be in accordance with Manufacturers standards.
Constant & Variable Hanger
Damper
U-Bolt ( Hot Dipped Galvanizing )
Pipe Clamp and Hanger Rod

2.5 Structural Steel for Pipe Support


The painting system of following parts shall be in accordance with Paint Code TP-A56.
Structural Beam (H,I, Channel, Angle etc...)
Steel Plate, Bar

2.6 Bolts and Nuts


Bolt and nut shall be coated with Hot dipped galvanizing.

2.7 Exception
The following surface shall not be painted.
Stainless steel and galvanized steel
Screw thread except for Bolts and Nuts
Connecting surface of pipe flange and Sliding surface

(D-1) The finish coating can be painted with all common 1- or 2-component coating materials
(i.e. artificial resin, epoxy resin, PVC, polyurethane, polyamide, and acrylic enamels).
In general, we recommend to verify the compatibility of the coating before applying a
new coating layer.
The surfaces to be painted must be slightly abraded and carefully cleaned, i.e. free of
foreign substance, grease, oily dirt and dust.
(D-2) The mounting face to the valve is powder coated.

EPICON F-HB is a high-build type epoxy micaceous iron oxide paint based on a combination of epoxy
resin and polyamide resin pigmented with micaceous iron oxide.
It has the following advantages;

Rusting at weld groove faces is a serious hindrance not only to the


rationalization and labor-saving of welding work but also to the quality
control. TASETO SILVER helps suppress rusting during a period from edge
preparation to completion of welding operation.

1. No need to remove an agent film before welding.
(does not effect adversely).
2. The rust preventive effect is valid for 3-month outdoor exposure and
6-months indoor exposure
3. Other paints can be painted over (except for SILVER S).

How to use
1. Remove oil, grease, rust and other attachments off the base metal before
application.
2. Whether it is aerosol canned or brushing type SILVER, or SILVER S shake
the container thoroughly until you hear the glass balls in the container
rattling.
3. Coat within the thickness range of 5 to 25 depending on the rust
prevention period or ambient conditions (within three coats by brushing
or 4 layers by aerosol spraying).
4. When you use a spray gun, TASETO SILVER THINNER is recommended
to clean the gun and dilute TASETO SILVER.

Note on usage
1. Apply recommended film thickness.
2. For welding special shapes or applying over a special paint, it is
recommended that you carry out the first piece test or consult with us.
