The benchmark indices extended gains for the eighth straight day with the Nifty settling just

one point below its crucial 10,400 mark ahead of the derivatives expiry of November series
due on Thursday. Broader sentiment was, however, subdued after Standard & Poors retained
the countrys sovereign rating of BBB-minus and maintained stable outlook, citing low
income levels, high debt and weaker government finances.

The Sensex ended at 33,724, up 45 points, while the broader Nifty50 closed at 10,399, up 10
points.

Nifty November 2017 futures closed at 10418.50 on Monday, at a premium of 18.95 points
over spot closing of 10399.55, while Nifty December 2017 futures ended at 10457.20, at a
premium of 57.65 points over spot closing. Nifty November futures saw a contraction of 2.26
million (mn) units, taking the total outstanding open interest (OI) to 17.63 mn units.

Highest open interest has been seen in 10500 and 10400 strike price for call option and in
10200 and 10300 strike price for put option.
