Professional Knowledge
The classroom learning programme is structured and varied, and it is clear to see that
Lisas intent is to achieve the best outcome for each and every one of her students. Lisa
brings an energy and enthusiasm to the classroom. The students are happy and feel
safe.
Lisa has been conscientious and focused on the introduction of the Bobby maths
programme in Year 7 classrooms. Following a rocky start to the introduction of this
programme, Lisa has maintained a positive stance. She has shown initiative and has
shared many wonderful problem solving activities with the staff. Thank you Lisa.
Lisa is particular when planning and this is detailed and follows the necessary
guidelines as set by the NZC. The teaching objectives are appropriate for the students
level and students are made aware of the learning intentions for specific lessons. Lisa
is continuing to provide a programme where student agency is a focus and students are
offered more personal choice with collaboration at the forefront of all learning.
Lisa is a valued member of the Literacy team and in her short time on the staff has
contributed to meetings with enthusiasm.
There is clear evidence of student assessment and specific learning outcomes have
been identified along with student achievement in all learning areas. Identifying
levels(well below, below, at, above, well above), next step learning, what worked well
and any improvements that would be necessary for future teaching. This has been
completed in detail for all learning areas. This should continue to be a focus.
Professional Practice
It has been a challenge for Lisa to move into an Innovative Learning Space and work
alongside another teacher. There have been issues, mainly because of a lack of
communication between the two teachers. There have been a number of meetings
between SMT and the two teachers and this has assisted to a degree in alleviating
some of the aggravation.
There is evidence of a focus on the school values, the 4 Rs, and the key competencies.
Lisa is continuing to practise using a variety of behaviour management techniques. She
is continuing to ensure that she makes regular contact with parents when required. This
will avoid problems further down the track and will offer no surprises for parents.
Teaching
Lisa provides a varied learning programme which is line with the NZC. She is continuing to
work on planning that is detailed and innovative and includes evidence of 21st century learning
skills. She is innovative when providing students with a range of learning strategies.
She is conscientious about offering feedback to students and student tasks/ workbooks are
marked on a regular basis. Lisa has completed mid-year reports for all of her students and she
has ensured that the comments are professional, relevant and detailed for each individual.
Professional Relationships
Lisa is a keen and enthusiastic staff member who is willing to roll up her sleeves and get
on with the job. e is an active member of the literacy team.
Lisa is continuing to focus on developing her professional image. She can achieve this
by understanding.
Lisa participates and contributes fully to any opportunity for professional development,
which has been evident in our recent work with Bobby Maths and Concept Based
Learning Inquiry.
