DISTRICT TRAINING ON GENDER EQUALITY MOVEMENT IN SCHOOLS OF CENTRAL LUZON (GEMS CL)

To: School Heads

1. In line with the Department Order No. 32 series 2017 Gender-Responsive Basic Education Policy, it was
stated that the Philippines is committed under international and national laws to integrated gender
equality into the principles, goals and processes of Philippines education. In connection with the policy,
the Department of Education, Region 3 through the Curriculum and Learning Management Division
(CLMD) conducted a Regional training on Gender Equality Movement in Schools of Central Luzon (GEMS-
CL). In this light, a District Training on Gender Equality Movement in Schools of Central Luzon (GEMS-CL)
is scheduled on November 29, 2017 at the District Conference Hall, Marilao Central School, Marilao,
Bulacan.

2. The objectives of this District training are to:


a. utilize the GAD modules developed which served as guide for school heads and teachers to plan and
design school or classroom activities that will both benefit all learners.
b. train and capacitate elementary heads and GAD focal person integrating gender equality in the
school improvement plans (SIPs), analyzing sex disaggregated data, assessing gender policies and
activities and understanding updates laws and other related policies related to achieve gender
equality education, and
c. craft a School Gender Responsive Action Plan

3. Participants include one (1) school GAD focal person, School Head, one (1) AP teacher/coordinator, one
(1) EsP teacher/coordinator. (4 participants per school)

4. Expenses to be incurred in the conduct of this training such as meals and transportation shall be charged
to School MOOE Fund while other incidental expenses may be taken from School Canteen Funds; both
are subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

5. Immediate and wide dissemination of this Memorandum is desired.
