Simple Present * present fact verb + 0/s am/is/are A: He drives that car.
* present habit/repeated activity + past participle P: That car is driven by him.

Present * present activity am/is/are am/is/are + being A: He is driving that car.


Progressive NOT used with non-action verbs + present participle + past participle P: That car is being driven by him.
Present Perfect * past --> present fact have/has have/has + been A: He has driven that car.
* recent past fact (no specific time) + past participle + past participle P: That car has been driven by him.
* repeated past fact (may repeat)
Present Perfect * past --> present activity have/has been x A: He has been driving that car.
Progressive NOT used with non-action verbs + present participle P: x

Simple Past * past fact (no time) verb + ed (regular) was/were A: He drove that car.
* past fact (specific time) + past participle P: That car is driven by him.
* repeated past fact (cant repeat)

Past * past activity was/were was/were + being A: He was driving that car.
Progressive NOT used with non-action verbs + present participle + past participle P: That car was being driven by him.
Past Perfect * 1st past fact had had + been A: He had driven that car.
2+ facts NOT in sequence + past participle + past participle P: That car had been driven by him.
