THE 2017 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON APPLIED

LINGUISTICS AND LANGUAGE EDUCATION

The Department of English and Applied Linguistics, in collaboration with

Br. Andrew Gonzales FSC College of Education of De La Salle University (DLSU), will
conduct The 2017 International Conference on Applied Linguistics and Language
Education (ICALLE 2017) with the theme Applied Linguistics and Language Teaching:
Research, Theory, Pedagogy, and Practice from February 9 to 11, 2017 at the De La Salle
University, Manila.

The objectives of the Conference are to:

1. share findings of applied linguistic research and their implications for

and applications to language education in different contexts;
2. facilitate the sharing of ideas about how applied linguistics can help
language education foster enduring understanding among learners
across levelselementary, secondary, and college/university;
3. update participants with innovative methods and strategies in
teaching a language and assessing language learning; and
4. help them establish a network of applied linguists and language
educators throughout the world.

The target participants are K to 12 English teachers, English coordinators, school

principals, teacher-trainors, and higher education institutions (HEIs) offering teacher
education.

Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the

no-disruption-of-classes policy stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled
Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance
Therewith.
