POLICY 0112009 (EDUCATION) - RESERVED QUOTA SEATS FOR THE CHILDREN

OF PN OFFICERS/CPOs/SAILORS/CIVILIANS IN PROFESSIONAL UNIVERSITIES/
COLLEGES/INSTITUTIONS

GENERAL

1. Some reserved quota seats are available for the children of PN

Officers/CPOs/Sailors/Civilians in various universitieslcolleges/institutes as per
details in Annex 'A'.

2. For admission against quota seats in the civil professional

universitieslcolleges/institutes, candidates should apply directly to the concerned
institution under intimation to NHQ (NES Dte) by filling up the prescribed form at
Annex 'C'(except for NUST constituent colleges and BUM&DC) and appear in
the entry test of the university/college/institute concerned.

3. The applications on the prescribed forms for reserved quota seats must
reach NES Dte, NHQ qS per schedule announced by NES Dte or, if not announced
at least 20 days prior.'to the last date promulgated by the respective institutes for
nomination against the seat. Applications received after due date will not be
entertained. Candidates are to inform NES Dte about the last date the nominations
are required to reach the concerned institute/<;;ollege/university.

4. Candidates are to inform NES Dte at NHQ about their selection on open
merit or otherwise within 7 days after declaration of open merit result, failing
which the seat will be offered to the standby can?idate.

5. Since the entrance test has weightage in_determining the merit, therefore,
candidates are required to forward an attested copy of the result of entry test
conducted by various institutions for admissions, to NES Dte, at the earliest.

6. Selected/standby candidates are advised to remain in contact with NES Dte

in their own interest on telephone.

7. Candidates who are applying on the basis of 0/ A level examinations are

required to submit an Equivalence Certificate from IBCC, Islamabad. While
deciding merit for a quota seat, percentage mentioned in this certificate will be
taken into account.
ELIGIBILITY (EXCEPT BU MEDICAL & DENTAL COLLEGE)

8. Children of serving/retired PN Officers/CPOs/Sailors with a rninimum of 15 years

of service from date of joining will be considered for admission against reserved quota
seats.

9. Children of the PN Civilian personnel (serving and retired) with a minimum of 15

years of service from date of joining will be eligible for the seats allocated to them for
specified disciplines at PNEC.

10. A candidate must fulfil prereqUISites and other eligibility conditions of the
institute/college/university he/she ~sapplying for.

11. For admissio.n against seats for medical/engineering disciplines (i.e

MBBS/BDS/BE degree courses), a candidate must have obtained a minimum of 60%
marks in aggregate each in matric (SSC) and HSSC or equivalent examination excluding
NCC marks.

12. Anny/P AF personnel on secondment/deputation to PN are to apply to their

respective service headquarters for admission against reserved quota seats allocated to
Anny/PAF.

ELIGIBILITY (BU MEDICAL & DENTAL COLLEGE)

13. Children of serving/retired PN Officers/CPOs/Sailors including serving civilian

with a minimum of 15 years of service from date of joining will be considered for
admission against reserved quota seats.

14. Army/PAF persotinel on secondment/deputation to PN are not eligible.

15. A candidate must fulfill prerequisites and other eligibility conditions of the
co llege/university.

16. A candidate must have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate each in
matric (SSC) and HSSC(Pre-Medical with Biology, Chemistry, Physics & English) or
equivalent examination excluding NCC marks.

17. British Advance Level Certificate with Biology, Chemistry and Physics, the
achievements should be at least 60% (Pre-Medical) inlBCC Equivalence Certificate.

MERIT

1~. Admission criteria in the NUST Constituent Units/Colleges. NUST criteria 111

vogue will be followed which is presently as under:

Candidate who have passed HSSC Candidate who have passed O/A Level

SSC 10% O-Level 25%

HSSC(Part -I) 15% Entrance Exam 75%
Entrance Exam 75%
19. Admission criteria for Bahria University Medical and Dental College. BUM&DC
criteria in vogue will be followed which is presently as under:

SSC/equivalent 10%
HSSC/equivalent 50%
Entrance Exam 40%

20. Admission criteria in the MedicallEngineering Colleges/ Universities/ Institutes

for which prerequisite qualification is HSSC

CANDIDA TES SELECTED ON OPEN MERIT

24. Candidates who qualify for admission both on merit and reserved quota in a
particular discipline in the same institution will be offered the Naval quota seat in case of
NUST constituent colleges, BUM&DC and Altamash Institute of Dental Medicines.
However, candidates selected on open merit will be required to forgo their seats on
reserved quota in case of institutions/college/universities other than NUST constituent
college, BUM&DC and Altamash Institute of Dental Medicines.

treated as cancelled.
