Teaching Practice Task 3: Noting Teaching and Learning Strategies

Program link: This task is associated to the guidelines of the course EPC 3403 Practicum 3a (Course
Learning Outcome 1 planning the lesson, 2- designing and creating resources, 3 maintaining a
positive environment, 4 considering individual differences and 5 timing)

Objective: You will Identify and assess teaching and learning strategies. At the end of each day, you
will note a teaching strategy that you or the teacher used that you consider very useful and you
would want to use again. This strategy can deal with the planning of the lesson, the use of materials
and technology, the review of prior learning, the motivation of the children, the presentation of the
materials, the appropriateness of the practice activities, classroom management strategies, timing
strategies, reviewing the lesson, general assessment of the learning or if you are lucky enough to talk
to your teacher, her reflection on her lesson.

Grade: Week:
Day 1: Subject: Math
Learning Outcome: By the end of this lesson students will be able to recognize the
weather name, and they will identify more about them.
By the end of the lesson student will be able to realize the positions of shadow s in the
day.

Strategy: Leaning by fun

Fun has a positive effect on motivation levels on the student while they are
leaning, determining what we learn and how much we retain. Learning isnt a
one-off event. It requires repetition and dedication. If the experience is fun,
learners will stay curious and keep coming back for more. Having this strategy in
the lesson will provide language practice in the various skills, because there will
be interaction between students and teacher. During my lesson I observed that
students understand the concept swiftly when the teaching part is in a way that
they prefer. Moreover the percentage of misbehavior is reducing , because
when the students doesnt get a staff that have in it their interest they will start to
get bored and do misbehaving things. Moreover I realized that when the student
are leaning by fun she or he can discover other concepts too , in my opinion
when the student get an chance of exampling the information get staled in her
mind for ever because she is the one who fund the idea. This is the reason that I
will like to have this stagey over still, because our job is to wide student
knowledge and encourage them for reducing.
Day 2: Subject: Math
Learning Outcome: In the end of the lesson student will be able to recognize
the sign of subtraction and adding, equal.
In the end of the lesson students will be able to answer subtraction
questions.

In the end of the lesson students will be able to answer subtraction questions
with whole and zero

Strategy: showing different ways and materials for delivering the


information

Good lesson always will have unlike ways of delivering the information for the
students. Moreover materials can contribute to students' learning experiences. In
addition this approach aid me in having motivated lesson on other hand this strategy
help students to develop their cognitive skills, according to Gardners leaning styles
reflect deep- seated features of the cognitive structure including pattern of ability
.Because students each student have her own way of earning the information so when
the student meet with her need he will feel motivate to get more , also when the teacher
use the material thats suit their interest and their this will attract them , and get their
attention also will force them to focus on the task, during my first week I observed them
in the lesson they werent motivated and focusing much in the lesson were they get low
marks when they work by them self. One of the reasons of it , the way that their teacher
is teaching is in folk way ,so they feel board and lake of focused , but when I teach them
the image get altered , because I found that student get engaged and focused when I
used unlike ways of delivering for example showing the video , showing them object or
with story. And this will also can assess them in generating their prior knowledge, and
aid them to remember the lesson, when they will look back to it , for example the number
line , when they stand on it and go had away they know that they are adding , so on
some time marital that attract student also aid students to remember the information.

Day 3: Subject: Math


Learning Outcome: In the end of the lesson student will be able to add by using
number line.
In the end student will be able to add by 1, 2 , 3 .
In the end of the lesson students will be able to answer the addition problem
question.
Strategy: modeling the activity
Day 4: Subject: Math
Learning Outcome: In the end of the lesson student will be able to subtract
Strategy: modeling the instruction of activity.
Modeling the instructions is important for students especially with young
students, and LA students. Because when teacher will model for them they
will know how to do it in the way that they are required, moreover its will
save teacher time instead of saying many times of what they have to do and
how?. Top on that in my point of view it is kind of scaffolding for this level of
students , which is ( I do you look , you do I help , you do I look) . however
some people side that modeling the instruction for students is restricting, my
feedback is that its depend on the level of students that teacher is teaching,
when I used this strategy I see the progress of the students in understanding
the activity , for example when I ask them to use the number line for
answering the questions , first I did the first question , and show them how
they will be subtraction by number line .according to their teacher its their
first time of using it , and they deal with it correctly in solving the problem.
and the sassed goes to modeling strategy.

Day 5: Subject: English


Learning Outcome: In the end of the lesson student will recognize family
members and their name
Strategy: using timer for the activity.
It was my first time of using timer in this TP and I found it effective in
managing the time of the lesson where each part get it time, and I feel my
self-organized, also I recognized that students were active with it, because
they were focusing with task, and they know they have to be do with this
time and if they dont there will be consequences of it, and even they get
done with the time they will be reworded by having point for their group.

Strategy: having group leader in each group and leader will have
responsibilities trend of group member.
This strategy aimed to have good classroom management and behavior , and
this consider under classroom environment that the teacher of the class she
have it by having routine and rules and this things aid teacher to be avoided
with misbehavior in the class. and I used this strategy ageing in TP because its
build a great communication skill between the students and the important
thing is that they will develop the language skill especially they are only
talking in English in the English period because as we know child learn more
fast when he get the lean from his friend. In addition this strategy will save
teacher time for teaching, so instead of teacher will check that students are
done, the leader will check , this strategy will also lead student learn about
responsibilities
