Living with Terrorism: Everyday Life and the Effects of Terror. History Behind the Headlines:
www.encyclopedia.com/history/energy-government-and-defense-magazines/living-terrori
This source comes from a reliable website and it is about the effects of terrorism on
peoples everyday lives. The website talks about the effects but then it talks about the
history of what people living in Israel, Palestine and Northern Ireland had to deal with
and then goes back to the personal impacts of terrorism. An author is not given but after
some more research I found that this website was created by an association that compiled
a lot of information together. The purpose of this website was to inform those interested
in the effects that terrorism has on people. This source includes less publicized areas that
were affected by terrorism. This source fits into my research because it discusses the
effects that terrorism has on people. The source wasnt that helpful because some of the
information sounded outdated. This source will not appear in my project because it
wasnt very helpful. This is good that you knew the information was outdated so you wouldn't
use it. Maybe name the association that created the website.
Maxa, Rudy. The Effect of Terrorism on Tourism. YouTube, uploaded by Audioburst, 19 Jan.
This source comes from a recorded broadcast done by a radio station. The broadcast
discusses the results of a study done by the Vice President of Government and Industry
Affairs of the World Travel and Tourism Council about the impact terrorism has on

tourism. The speaker basically says that tourism isnt really affected because the tourists
trust in the governments of those areas to protect everyone and they also dont think that
they will ever be put in these situations. The speaker was appointed as the Director/VP of
Government and Industry Affairs in 2011 and before that she was the head of the
gathered are reliable because of the speakers credentials. (maybe mention some of the
credentials)The purpose of this was so that the results of this study could be shared with
the public and the intended audience are those who are worried about terrorism affecting
their business and scaring tourists away. This source is the only one that has information
from a government official. This fits into my research because it shows that tourism isnt
harmed by terrorism. It changed the way I thought about my topic because I believed that
terrorism did affect tourism. This source will most likely appear in my project because it
Walt, Vivienne. How the Paris Attacks Changed Us. Time.com, 2 May 2016,
This source comes from an article in Time magazine, a popular source. The article
discusses the changes that the author has seen in her city after the attacks that occurred
there. Vivenne Walt writes that the city of Paris has been completely changed and the
way people viewed the world had shifted. She tells about how journalists now have to
adapt with facing terror at home rather than in the field. She also gives her own opinion
on how the attacks of 11/13/15 should have been foreseen. The authors credentials show
that she is a reliable author that doesnt have a bias. However, because she is located in

Paris, most of her articles are centered around the city or the country of France. The
purpose of the article was to share what the author saw and how she felt, being a citizen
of Paris. The intended audience are those that interested in the aftermath of the Paris
attacks. This source is the only source that includes some personal experiences. This
source fits into my research because it shows firsthand how an attack affected the culture
of a city. It was helpful because it helped my understanding of how it felt to live through
something like this. This source will appear in my project because it gives an experience
of the changes after an attack. interesting source you used, I would just write out the date used
above
Woods, Joshua. "The 9/11 Effect: Toward a Social Science of the Terrorist Threat." The Social
This source come from comes from a scholarly journal written by a sociology professor
at West Virginia University. This journal is about different effects that many Americans
felt after 9/11. The journal discusses topics such as the newfound trust in the US
government and patriotism as well as giving up civil liberties/privacy and the increase in
hate crimes on those of middle-eastern descent. In short, it discusses both the good and
bad effects caused by 9/11. The author has his PhD and is currently a professor. He has
also written many books and he doesnt seem to be biased at all. The information is
reliable because the author did his research thoroughly and cited all the sources he used.
This is an academic source that was made to inform others Americans of the effects that
9/11 had on the culture of America. This source maybe the most helpful out of all my
sources because it gives me the good and bad changes that the US faced. This fits into my
McClelland 5
research because it shows the changes in American Culture. It was very helpful and it
helped to shape my argument because it includes the good and the bad. This source will
appear in my project because it shows that not everything is bad after a terrorist attack.
All the sources seemed very informational and creditable. Good annotations throughout!
