Big Data Analytics Skill for Future Accountants

Contents:
1. What is Big data?
2. What is Big data analytics?
3. Who is an Accountant?
4. Why the Big data analytics skill is useful to the Accountants?
5. Research or study on Big data analytics skill (Journal articles or other resources from any trusted
websites such McKinsey Quarterly, ) - minimum of 10

Format:
1. Cover page include title, section, group members' name and matric number, course title and date of
submission
2. Font size 12 Times New Roman, 1.5 spacing and maximum of between 10 to 15 pages excluding
appendix.

References:
All resources use under Contents section must be supported with references. Example if it's from journal
articles, the articles details must be included under References.

Group Project - Database
GROUP PROJECT 20%
Students are required to form a group of SIX (6).

Objectives:
To apply the knowledge of Microsoft Excel for an interactive presentation on financial data and non-
financial data.
To develop a prototype system using Microsoft Access for storing the information of the organization.

Requirements:
A. Choose ONE Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG).

B. Report Structure:

1.0 BACKGROUND OF THE PIBG


- History, management structure and other related information
2.0 CREATE DASHBOARD WITH MICROSOFT EXCEL
- Design a simple dashboard showing major financial and non-financial features using Microsoft Excel.
You can obtain the information from booklet usually distribute during yearly annual general meeting
(AGM). (Interview is not required)
3.0 PROPOSED PROTOTYPE SYSTEM WITH MICROSOFT ACCESS OR ANY DATABASE
APPLICATIONS
- An overall view of the proposed system to capture the information for PIBG. (explanation of the business
processes)
- Prepare the Gantt chart showing the start and finish dates of the proposed system development
process.
- Choose any TWO of your suggested proposed sub-systems. (Example fixed asset management,
activities etc.)
- Prepare a data flow diagram (DFD) and Resources, events and agents (REA) Diagram based on the
two narratives.
- Design your proposed system using Microsoft Access or other database application as per your REA
diagram. (If your database features are not similar with your REA Diagram, points will be deducted)

C. Formatting
- The hardcopy report should be written with 1.5 spacing and Times New Roman font size 12, stapled
with the appendix -
and a cover page listing the title, section, group members matric number, course title and the date.
- The maximum pages of the report between 12 to 18 pages, excluding the Appendix.
- Submission dateline is on December 22, 2017, Friday before noon.

D. Presentation
Time limit for the presentation is 15 - 20 minutes for each group.
