Objectives (Explicit): Use Blooms verbiage ae to identify the formula


Students will be able to identify famous pirates in both the 17th century and in modern times by
examining the pirates and the effect they have on trade.

Evidence of Mastery (Measurable): An actual product /Include an explanation of how you are going
to grade/grading tool? (rubric, checklist, etc.)
Students will be graded by checklist based off understanding and completion of material in the form of
a questionnaire worksheet. The students will submit their paper for feedback on their work.

Students will be able to identify old world, pop culture and modern pirates.
Students will be able to describe why the pirates came to be.
Students will be able to relate pirates of the old world to modern day pirates

Students will be able to categorize each individual pirates into groups of modern, fictional, and
past/historical pirates and explain their effects on trade.Teachers will generate curiosity within the
students by having them ask questions and activities. Students identify pirates and the classification
they belong to and summarize their effects on trade. Prior knowledge will be activated by discrepant
events in pirate history
