My Reflection about Ordinal Numbers Lesson

The lesson was about ordinal numbers and the outcome is used ordinal numbers to describe the
order of objects, people or events. The students have to identify the ordinal numbers. The lesson
was for grade 1 students. I did the lesson in the classroom. I was trying to teach students to
recognize the ordinal numbers and know the difference between them and how to put them in
order. The activities that I did are Puzzles, cards with clips and shirts on the rope. The response
of the students during I taught them the lesson was very active and participate with me, so the
response of students like that because of the activities and the way that I taught them was
engaging. For example, the students were very excited to hang on the shirts numbers on the rope
and put them in order as a group. I engaged the students by doing different activities and didnt
do worksheets. My goal of teaching students the ordinal numbers are met by saw the students
recognize how to put the numbers in order and most of the students did the activity correctly.
The students to be able to learn the ordinal numbers they have to know how to count from 1 to
100. If there is a chance to teach the students the ordinal numbers in the future I will take
students outside of the class and do a race and let the students race between them and show them
who get the first, second and third rank in the race. The thing that I'm thinking to implicate in my
practice is more of classroom management which I think to practice with them the bell strategy
which works that every time when the students finish doing their activities they have to leave
whatever they do and start to tidy their place and back to the carpet every when they hear ring of
the bell. Unfortunately, the classroom management that teacher was used in the class wasnt
effective which she put a cleanup song on her phone and let students clean up, and the volume of
the song is not that too loud to every student can hear it, so some of them stay busy with the
thing that they doing it.
