my classroom. It is important as a history teacher to look for new material which the students

might find interesting. It is also important to keep up with current events and see if there is a way

to make a connection with the material currently being discussed in class and what is currently

going on in the world. This is a way to continuously improve my teaching practice because it is

important for students to see the relevance in the material they are learning. Other ways to

continuously improve my teaching practices is by reflecting after each lesson if it was successful

or not. If it did not go successful or as well as I would like it to go, I will make sure to make

improvements to the lesson plan for the future. I will also occasionally ask students for feedback

through a closure activity to grasp the students feelings towards my teaching practices and see if

there is ways that I can improve. Overall, as a teacher I would like to be involved in what is

going on in my students lives as well as what is going on in the community. This involves

sporting events and especially events that involve parents and students. I wish to reach out to

parents and have parents become more involved within the school community since parental

involvement lacks for high school students. I would like to contribute to the school community

by making parents become more involved and hopefully it will help students become more

successful.
