The Advances in Materials and Processing Technologies (AMPT
2014) is sponsored by AMPT Programs and organized by the
American Society of Materials (ASM Saudi Chapter) in
cooperation with The Society for Protective Coatings
(SSPC),Saudi Aramco (largest oil company in the world), Qatar
University (QU), Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU)
as one of the largest private universities in the Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia, and Masdar Institute of Science and Technology
(Masdar Institute) as one of the best research-oriented
universities focused on alternative energy and sustainability for
the GCC region.
The annual AMPT conference is a premiere international
meeting and one of the largest metals forming, fabricating,
welding and finishing events designed to be an interface
between researches and engineering for the presentation of
ideas, work and results to transfer to engineering development
of the globe.

Owned by the Saudi Arabian Government, Saudi Aramco is a fully-integrated, global petroleum enterprise,
and a world leader in exploration and producing, refining, distribution, shipping and marketing, with a
legacy of more than 100 years of achievements and success. Saudi Aramco manages proven reserves of
259.8 billion barrels of oil, the largest of any company in the world, and manages the fourth-largest gas
reserves in the world. The companys maximum sustained crude production capacity is currently more than
14 million barrels per day.
Masdar Institute of Science and Technology is the worlds first graduate-level university dedicated to
providing real-world solutions to issues of sustainability. The Institutes goal is to become a world-class
research-driven graduate-level university, focusing on advanced energy and sustainable technologies.
Located in the Masdar City in Dubai, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Masdar Institute aims to
support Dubais economic diversification by nurturing highly-skilled human and intellectual capital and
partnering with industry leaders.
In 1977, Qatar University was founded with four new colleges; Education, Humanities & Social Sciences,
Sharia, Law & Islamic Studies, and Science. The College of Engineering was later established in 1980,
followed by the College of Business and Economics. The University added the Pharmacy Program to its
academic portfolio in 2006 the first in Qatar -- and later established it as the College of Pharmacy in 2008.
Today, Qatar University comprises seven colleges. The university has over the years added a wide range of new
programs that are aligned with the growing needs of the labor market and the aspirations of the society it serves.
Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University (PMU) is one of the best private universities on the GCC region. PMU
concentrates on the needs, interests and abilities of students for sustainable nourishing. This university
welcomed latest technology since its inception. It implemented them in the teaching methodology and
curriculum development. Today PMU is equipped with advanced technologies which are beneficial for
students to get registered in specific courses and avail regular advice or guidance from the respective
instructors online by sitting in the privacy of homes.
ASM Saudi Chapter is one of ASM International chapters distributed all over the globe. ASM International is
100 years old society. ASM is where materials users, producers, and manufacturers converge to do business.
INTERNATIONAL
ASM Saudi Chapter was established to bridge Gulf Region & USA together in materials community by
R
providing technical knowledge, education, networking and professional development, and by organizing

SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings was founded in 1950 as the Steel Structures Painting Council, a
non-profit professional society concerned with the use of coatings to protect industrial steel structures. In
1997, the name of the association was changed to The Society for Protective Coatings to better reflect the
changing nature of coatings technology and the ever-expanding types of construction materials. SSPC is the
leading source of information on surface preparation, coating selection, coating application, environmental
regulations, and health and safety issues that affect the protective coatings industry.
Knowledge Awareness EXPO Technical Services (KATS) is an event organizing firm that has been working
actively in Saudi Arabia in specific and Gulf Region in general. KATS has a wide variety of organizing business
within Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical Industries. More than 200 technical events and International conferences
has been organized over the years with Saudi Aramco, SABIC, and the private sectors in the area. KATS is a
well recognized organizing firm in the industry and has been awarded many times for their work excellence
& optimal efficiency.
