2.3 CABLE APPROVAL

All cables shall be tested and listed by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL)
(those identified on OSHA website - www.osha-slc-gov/dts/otpca/nrtl) acceptable to the
Certifying Authority to IEC 60092-3 and IEC 60332-3-21.
The NRTL shall test and document all tests done on the cable in accordance with the
acceptable test and frequency as defined in the standards and/or by the Certifying Authority.
All cables supplied shall be congruently type approved by the Certifying Authority for marine
use on a FPSO.
The Supplier shall make copies of the complete unabridged testing report from the respective
NRTL, and the corresponding congruent Type Approval Certificates from the Certifying
Authority available for review.

3.0 GENERAL
Cable shall be IEC 60332-3-21 Category A, Listed and certified by a Nationally Recognized
Testing Laboratory (NRTL) for use as a Marine Shipboard cable.
Cable shall be flame retardant, low smoke and halogen free.
Cable shall be heavy duty, oil-resistant, heat-resistant, and moisture-resistant type thermoset
insulated cable with a voltage rating of 0.6/1 kVAC or DC.
Cables for the following services shall be Fire Resistant, maintain circuit integrity during a
fire and satisfy IEC 60331-21:
Fire & Gas Systems
Emergency Shutdown System
PA & GA System
Process Shutdown System
Emergency Lighting
