I will check their understanding of the previous lessons because all the lessons are connected to
each other. I will show them the signs of addition, subtraction and equal and ask them what do
we call this sign? When do we use it? How?
after I ensure their understanding of the signs I will give them a group activity 1 also to check
their understanding of adding the numbers in order to move to subtraction.

General Comments
It was good lesson but I need to manage time for closing.

Recommendations / future personal targets / areas of focus


In today's class my goal was to teach my first grade students the property of zero in subtraction
the zero does not effect other numbers. Moreover, if subtract two same numbers it will be zero
e.g. 3-3=0.
In this lesson I linked many areas of their personal life to the lesson and also I've connect it to their
science lesson by saying what does the birds eat?. On the other hand I tried to provide a
positive classroom environment by avoid shouting and keep encouraging and praising students,
also I displayed their work on the wall, as well as I use motivational stickers which support to
build children's elf esteem and confidence in the classroom and create positive effect on the
classroom behavior and performance especially for children's in this age.
The students were engaged and super motivated because I tried to use different learning styles
and multiple intelligences in one lesson such as visual, logical and social. In addition I designed the
candy activity to break up the monotony of regular class work, which really made them excited. I
know that they liked the activities because in the next session some of girls came and say teacher
Haya we like your math class! When you will teach us again? which really gave me positive
energy and lead me to think deeply how to make the mathematics fun for these little kids instead
of pressure on them by using only the book.
I think I achieved my goal and I had successful teaching in this class, but I think I must do better
than that and if time goes back of course I will change things, two of the things that i'm regretting
of it is the closing part and I forget to bring the small balls to model the first question in the book
but instead of that I used small circles of papers.
