It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Mrs. Jenna Jusits.
Mrs. Jusits has been my student teacher at Oley Valley Elementary School for the past 13 weeks.
During this period she has very capably taught language arts, math, and social studies to 22
second graders.
Mrs. Jusits has been a cooperative and dependable professional. She was eager to
immediately begin working with students and take on teaching responsibilities. Her rapport with
students began on the first day as she moved about the classroom learning their names and trying
to gain an understanding of their unique personalities. Jenna didnt hesitate to become actively
involved in our classroom activities and intuitively knew where she could help in the classroom
throughout the day. She demonstrated the desire and ability to be a team player in the teaching
process. Mrs. Jusits was also able to recognize the importance of reflecting on each lesson
taught and responded very well to any suggestions I offered to improve her teaching techniques.
Mrs. Jusits accepted the challenge of teaching with a creative mind focused on meeting
the needs of her students. She worked tirelessly to provide exciting and relevant lessons that
followed the second grade curriculum. Her enthusiasm for teaching was evident in each lesson
she taught. She incorporated varied teaching strategies into her lessons to keep students engaged
and excited about learning. She integrated technology with the use of You Tube to teach about
the Constitution and doubles facts. She also used the Smart Board daily to aide in delivery of
instruction. Math lessons were full of hands on experiences using place value models and a
lesson using Skittles to teach the concept of doubles facts.
Jenna effectively dealt with the daily management of the classroom. She provided clear
instructions and expectations to ensure quality work and behavior from the students. Mrs. Jusits
was very observant of student behaviors and needs and addressed them appropriately. She
adequately used the School-Wide Behavior plan to manage behaviors and promote positive and
appropriate behaviors.
Respectfully,
