Welfare Officer

Job Title Welfare Officer

Role : Assisting the management on all matters relating to labour relations in general
and relations with the various Trade Unions in the estate in particular.
Main Analyzing actions of the Trade Unions, their policies, plans and
Responsibilities : objectives, maintaining contacts with the various Union
Representatives in the estates, anticipating Union demands and
reactions with a view to keep the Management informed
Keeping abreast with the labour / staff relations to Company /
Estates communications /conducting JLMCs / formation of safety
committees/ welfare programmes and informing the Management to
enable them to take appropriate action as and when required.
Liaising with the Inspector of Factories / Inspector of Plantations and
other Government Officials / Panchayats and Police Department
concerning day-to-day administration of the estate and maintaining
good relations with them.
Assisting the Manager in organizing various staff / labour recreation
activities/ family planning programmes. Study and ensure measures
to improve welfare and living conditions of workers
Keeping abreast of all labour legislation and ensuring the
maintenance of statutory records and submission of returns, etc.
Familiarising with the various circulars issued by the UPASI / State
P.A. / Head Office, etc. on subjects within your functional area.
Absenteeism analyze unauthorized absenteeism and ensure steps
to reduce the same
Familiarising with the staff / labour Standing Orders and assisting the
Manager in interpretation of the same for effective implementation
and application.
Familiarising with the rules concerning weights and measures and
periodically checking all balances used on estates, i.e., for weighing
leaf in the field, issuing grains and those used in the factory and
informing the Manager suitably to correct / stamp / verify, if
necessary.
Grievance Handling Work as a liaison between management and
workers for effective grievance handling.

Qualification : MSW in Personnel Management / Industrial Relations
Experience : Freshers / 1-2 years of experience
Age Limit : 22 27 years

Reporting to : Estate Manager

Compensation /
CTC: 2.8 3.3 lac per annum CTC
Place of Posting : Tea / Rubber Estates
