a. Plan and carry out investigations to observe the flow of energy in water as it changes states
from solid (ice) to liquid (water) to gas (water vapor) and changes from gas to liquid to solid.
b. Develop models to illustrate multiple pathways water may take during the water cycle
(evaporation, condensation, and precipitation).

Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
The students will be ending a unit on the water cycle. The students should be knowledgeable on the
subject. This activity will be done the day before the test to help students understand what they may need
to study or go over, it will also help the teacher understand what to go over before the test. First the
teacher will introduce the students to the technology used, then the program itself.
Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
Assess prior knowledge Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) To illuminate common
misconceptions Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) Summative assessment of content knowledge Test preparation
Survey/Poll Discussion starter Homework collection Other (please explain):

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity: (What will the students do? What will the
teacher do? What materials are needed? How long with the activity last?)
Each student will need an iPad to access Quizlet on. Each student will pull up the quizlet then click on the test
option. Then the teacher will make sure everyone is set up. After the teacher will give the students 15
minutes to complete the Quiz.
Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):
Multiple choice Multiple select True/False Yes/No
Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank Longer open-ended response

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10):

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?

Yes No
Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)

Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
Yes
No
Why or why not?

Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?

After the teacher will use the instant data that was collected then go over the most missed questions with
the class.

How will the data be used? What data will be collected as a result of this activity? How will it be used and by
whom? (For example: Will information collected from this activity be used to award a grade? Will the
individual collected be shared with students and/or parents to help them monitor individual progress? Will you
discuss the aggregate, anonymous data with the whole class to help them learn? Will you use data to
differentiate instruction for students, if so describe how.)
This will be used for a test preparation. It will also be listed on the class blog for students to use as a study
tool. The data collected will not be for a grade but for preparation. As a result of the data the teacher and
student both know what the class or selves are struggling with. The data will be anonymous and only the
student taking the test and the teacher will see their scores. The data will be used to see what the student
know and dont know or understand about the water cycle. The questions the students miss will be gone
over, and the teacher will se the data to teacher the lesson more affectively the next year.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. (For example: What are you trying that you have not
tried before? What do you hope to learn from this activity? How do you hope it will help students learn?)
For this activity the teacher is trying to assess the students before a test. The teacher is trying to learn what
the students may have missed. And then help inform the students before the test.
