PROJECT PROPOSAL

Project Title: First BE GLAD Sports Fest against Substance abuse among all secondary
public schools in Pasig City.

Project Proponent: All BE GLAD Secondary Public school students members.

Project Venue: Pasig City Sports Complex and Rizal High School Gymnasium.

Project Date: Fiscal Year 2017

Rationale:
The substance abuse problem particularly in the secondary public school in Pasig City is greatly
felt as seen in the previous random drug testing results conducted previously in the school place. This is
so alarming due to the fact that some of the students was tested positive for shabu indicating the severity
of the problem. It is imperative to establish a strategy or formulate a viable solution that could mitigate if
not eradicate the problem.

General Objective:
To have an activity that will suffice the need in improving and promoting a healthy lifestyle
program by having a sports fest among all BE GLAD students representing all secondary public schools in
Pasig City thereby promoting the substance abuse program.

Specific Objective:
1. To provide a sport fest program/ tournament, particularly basketball for the boys and volleyball
for the girls for all secondary public schools in Pasig City, among BE GLAD officers and other youth
organization members.
2. To establish a good working linkage among the different youth organization of each respective
school that could be beneficial in attaining our goal in the substance abuse program through the
sport fest activity.
3. To be able to shift if not remove thought processes in substance use to other productive thought
process and behaviors by promoting sports activities.
4. To establish a strong good foundation inside the school though promotion of healthy lifestyle
programs and activities, thereby promoting the substance abuse program.
5. To be able to promote adolescent reproductive health in relation with the substance use program
in the school place.

Methodology:

1. Sports activity ( Tournament )


Brief Discussion:

This is a 7 day sports tournament design for all BE GLAD youth officers and members and other
youth organization within the secondary public schools in Pasig city. This will involve two sport namely
basketball for men and volleyball for women in which all levels that is from grade 7 to 10 will be well
represented and so that full participation will be met.
This is activity was planned in close coordination with the Department of Education, Pasig
Division,PTCA , City Health Office through SaTOP and the BE GLAD Coordinators. All games will be done at
Rizal High School Covered Court and some at the Pasig Sports Complex. Referrees will come from MAPEH
teachers in the different secondary public schools.

Expected Output:

This activity will end after 7 days , 1 will merge champion and 3 runner up for each category. A
Corresponding trophy and price money will be given to the one who will merge as winners for each
category. At the end of the day we will be able to promote a healthy lifestyle activity like this sport fest
and be able to serve as a deterrence in the substance use problem and likewise promote the adolescent
reproductive health program in all secondary public school in Pasig City.

Greetings in Peace !

I would like to request your good office, the conduction of the First BE GLAD Tournament / Sports
Fest against Substance abuse among all secondary public schools in Pasig City this coming month 2017 ,
with the purpose of promoting healthy life skills through exercise as one of the most practical way of
preventing substance use in the school place if not in the community. The tournament will include both
basketball for the boys and volleyball for the girls.
