Product Phase out News

MX-ONE 5.0
APRIL 4TH 2016
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This Phase out News formally announces the phase out of MX-ONE 5.0 including new sales, migration, upgrading,
add-on sales, end of active sustaining and Service stop.

Deadline to end of extended support for Novells SUSE Linux version 10 is July 31, 2016. Since MX-ONE 5.0 uses
this version of the Operation System, Mitel encourages customers and partners to upgrade to MiVoice MX-ONE 6.x
product line with use version 11 of SUSE Linux that has end of active support by March, 2022.

For security reasons, it is essential for customers to upgrade to MiVoice MX-ONE 6.x with the currently supported
SUSE Linux 11 version in order for Mitel to deliver essential OS security patches as well as new security features
implemented in MX-ONE software.

All relevant functions and features available in MX-ONE 5.0 have been introduced or replaced with equivalent
functionality in the MiVoice MX-ONE 6.x.

Besides providing our MX-ONE 5.0 customers with the equivalent functions and features as they have today, the
MiVoice MX-ONE 6.x solution portfolio brings many new features and enhancements, particularly in the system
architecture, virtualization & cloud support for the MX-ONE and UCC applications, enabling HW consolidation and
enhanced resiliency options. Customers upgrading to MiVoice MX-ONE 6.1 can take advantage of the introduction
of new Mitel application suites, such as MiCollab 7.1, MiVoice Call Recording 9.0 and Mitel Performance Analytics
that are now available with this release.

Customers should take advantage of current campaigns, such as Smooth Migration for HW refresh or other local
campaigns in place. Please contact your local Mitel channel manager regarding active campaigns in your market.

As the MX-ONE 5.0 release is covered through our Mitel's SW Maintenance program, existing customers have an
upgrade path to the next releases when adhering to the Software Maintenance - Assurance level.

It is also strongly recommended MX-ONE 5.0 customers with SW Maintenance - Basic level to uplift their current
Software Maintenance - Basic coverage to Software Maintenance - Assurance level to benefit from this upgrade
possibility. Please consult your local Mitel channel manager for details.

Yours truly,

REASON FOR PHASE OUT

MESSAGE TO PARTNERS AND CUSTOMERS WITH MX-ONE 5.0
Novell has announced the end of extended support for SUSE Linux version 10 by July 31st, 2016, meaning that this
version can no longer be delivered on the market and will not benefit from any further support or security patch
packages after this date. Mitel therefore has an obligation to stop further sales of MX-ONE 5.0 before this period.
Since MX-ONE 5.0 uses this version of the SUSE Linux Operating System, Mitel strongly encourages customers
and partners to upgrade to MiVoice MX-ONE 6.x product baseline, which uses Novell SUSE Linux 11 with a planned
end of active support no sooner than March, 2022.

Therefore, Mitel has taken the decision to phase-out MX-ONE 5.0 according to the phase out schedule below. Mitel
will also ensure that the replacement products that are part of the MX-ONE solution portfolio are going forward either
through the support of all relevant functions and products supported today by MX-ONE 6.x or offering equivalent
functionality. As MX-ONE 5.0 is covered through the Mitel Software Maintenance program, customers with an active
Software Maintenance - Assurance level status are ensured an upgrade path to the latest supported releases.

It also goes without saying that customers with earlier versions of MX-ONE (e.g. 4.1 or earlier) under active SW
maintenance assurance, should be reminded that these versions are EOL and under best endeavor. We therefore
stongly recommend these customers to upgrade MiVoice MX-ONE 6.x to be eligible for product support and benefit

condtions when refreshing HW, adding new SW options or when upgrading applicatons to the latest releases.
Please contact your local Mitel channel manager for information on this and other campaigns avaiaible on your

The MX-ONE product suite will follow standard Mitel product lifecycle policies as well as the latest Technical Support
guide. As of the Stop of New Sales date, July 7th, the Application Lifecycle policy will be applied for the MX-ONE 5.0
SP7 software release. It may be necessary to upgrade to MX-ONE 6.x to get access to corrections.

For further information related to the MiVoice MX-ONE 6 solution portfolio as well as the new product certification
process, please refer to the MX-ONE 6 Product Launch document and the latest Product News documents for the
