Teaching Practice Task 3: Noting Teaching and Learning Strategies

Program link: This task is associated to the guidelines of the course EPC 3403 Practicum 3a (Course
Learning Outcome 1 planning the lesson, 2- designing and creating resources, 3 maintaining a
positive environment, 4 considering individual differences and 5 timing)

Objective: You will Identify and assess teaching and learning strategies. At the end of each day, you
will note a teaching strategy that you or the teacher used that you consider very useful and you
would want to use again. This strategy can deal with the planning of the lesson, the use of materials
and technology, the review of prior learning, the motivation of the children, the presentation of the
materials, the appropriateness of the practice activities, classroom management strategies, timing
strategies, reviewing the lesson, general assessment of the learning or if you are lucky enough to talk
to your teacher, her reflection on her lesson.

Grade: Week:
Day 1: Subject:
Mathematics (repeated addition)
Strategy:
group work
Using computer to show the lesson on the board.
The reason I used these strategies is to make the lesson fun and easy for the
students to learn this lesson and to make it more visual in using the
projector to show the students the questions and make it more interactive
for the students.

Learning outcome:
Students will be able to add in a repeated way.
Students will be able to count by using manipulatives

Day 2: Subject:
Mathematics (skip counting)
Strategy:
Group work.
Pausing ( for the behavior management)
I used group work strategy because its always useful and helpful for the
students in the way they will discuss and solve the activities together, also
the pausing strategy is effective on the students because they will know if
they misbehaved I will fold my arms and will pause till they all are quit and
give me their attention.
Learning Outcome:
Skip count on the hundreds table.
Skip count by 2, 5 and 10

Day 3: Subject:
Mathematics

Learning Outcome:
Students will be able to skip count by using equal groups.
Counting by equal groups.

Strategy:
Hands on activities.
Group work
Pair work
These strategies will help the students to understand the lesson because
they will be working in groups and in pairs which will make them gain
different strategies in how they can solve the questions, and it will be much
easier for them because they will have hands on activities which it will be
fun and different way to teach the students.
Day 4: Subject:
Science

Learning Outcome:
Students will be able to describe the food chain and food web
Students will be able to differentiate between food chain and food web.

Strategy:
Group work
Discussing
Discovering
Creativity
Using technology (videos)
The strategies will help the students to understand the lesson in a
different way where they will be discovering and watching videos
instead of just lecturing without showing any visuals to the students
especially the students in younger ages they need to have more
visuals to understand the lesson easily.

Day 5: Subject:
Mathematics

Learning Outcome:
Students will differentiate between odd and even numbers.

Strategy:
Hands on activity
Individual work.
The strategies in this lesson is important because the students will be
working individual which means that they will do the activity by their own
without any help from their classmates and that will shows if the students
are on track or not. and also they will be having hands on activities which
that will make it easier for some students such as LA students.
