Benefits That can be achieved by Providing Basement

1 Utilization of space that can be added with additional investement (~ PKR 4,800 per sft)
2 Can improve circulations if connected to existing basements of hospital
Risks / Constraints
1 As per peliminary estimate (PKR 4.9Bn) the project cost is already more than the maxium availble budget (PKR
4.5Bn). Therefore budget provisions shall be carefully studied.
2 Basement will have 12' clear height with no provision for natural light and ventilation, Can be used for storage
purpose mostly.
3 Considerable revision would be needed to update the Architecture, Life Safety and MEP drawings.
4 Depending on to the philosophy of use , Main Hospital basement layouts would also require review to update it
completely. For example the spaces for Material Management and Waste Management would be revised, if we
provide connection between the existing and the new basement, impacting the whole basement layout. For
example, we can enlarge the space provided for CSSD or Laundry.
