ADEC Standards:

Student teacher will review with the students the steps of how to write recount text:
The five W: Who, What, When, Where, How. The beginning, Middle, End. 6 minutes
Also, the steps of writing recipe: What I will make? What do I need?
How I will do it?
Core (introduce and practice new concepts & procedures): 20 minutes
Group 1:
Students will work together to write and present with actions to the other students a story using
recount way (beginning, middle, and end). They will write about Day on the Beach.
Student teacher will provide to them the materials such as:
A4 paper to write their recount story.
Sunglasses, pail, shovel.
Timer setup for 15.
The instruction card.
Group 2:
Students will work together to write and present with actions to the other students a story that
involved recount way (beginning, middle, and end). They will write about Visiting my cousin.
Student teacher will provide to them the materials such as:
A4 paper to write their recount story.
Play doh, mini bag, gift.
Timer setup for 15.
The instruction card.
Group 3:
Students will work together to write and present with actions to the other students "a recipe"
that involved the transition words (First, Next, Then, Last, Finally). They will write a recipe
about how to make fruit salad.
Student teacher will provide the materials such as:
A4 paper to write their recipe.
Apple, banana, orange, fruit juice, spoon, bowl.
Timer setup for 15 minutes
The instruction card.
Group 4:
Students will work together to write and present with actions to the other students "a recipe"
that involved the transition words (First, Next, Then, Last, Finally). They will write a recipe
about how to make a lemon juice.
Student teacher will provide the materials such as:
A4 paper to write their recipe.
Lemon, squeezer, cup, spoon, sugar, water.
Timer setup for 15 minutes
The instruction card.
For group 3 and 4, the lemon, apple, banana, and orange will be cut before they start the
activity, for the students safety.
Here a picture of the instructions that the student teacher will give to each group, and give one
minute to decide who will take parts (for number 2 and 3 in the instruction) in their
presentations:
The student teacher will observe the groups and give hints to the students each 2 minutes.
Students will present their work to the whole class with the actions. Each group will spend
about 3 minutes in their presentations.
Student teacher will reward the students who will present well by giving stickers.
