Curriculum can be differentiated in three ways:


Content/curriculum methods
Activities and instructional methods used to teach the curriculum
Assessments

Content can be differentiated by:


Using both whole-to-part and part-to-whole approaches
Using other instructional materials such as videos, computers, and other textbooks
Providing study guides, group study sessions, or graphic organizers
Providing gifted learners with in-depth projects
Teaching concepts and principles
Varying the delivery of the instruction based on the students interests and learning strategies

Instructional methods can be differentiated by:


Providing lessons that include student interests
Vary in level of difficulty
Assigning different projects such as graphic organizers, magazine articles, posters, etc.
Varying the amount of support between the student and the teacher

Assessments can be differentiated by:


Variety of tests, essays, quizzes, projects, oral presentations, and other assessment method
Encourage students to prepare for assessments using study guides
Variety of difficulty levels
For struggling learners:
Provide sample products from previous years for students to analyze
Provide information in the students primary language
Allow students to complete assignments in smaller parts
Require students to apply essential information from the lesson on the assessments
Provide time-lines for the students
For advanced learners
Assessments should be challenging
Based on advanced information
