RFI QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS for RFP 14-05081109/BD

BSRB Energy Recovery System Upgrades

1. Question: Please confirm this will be an OCIP project.


Answer: Yes, this project will be enrolled in the owners OCIP program.

2. Question: Please clarify who is responsible for carrying testing and balancing subcontractor.
Answer: The General Contractor is responsible for securing and contracting with a commissioning/test
& balance agent.

3. Question: Notes 6/M-101 and note 3/M-201 refer to a temporary waterproof construction barrier
shall block water, dust, etc. Exactly what kind of wall do you want constructed beyond what is listed in
the note? Do we use water resistant gyp similar to what is used in restrooms? Do the walls need to be
coated with some sort of waterproofing membrane?
Answer: the method of providing the required waterproof barrier is contractor means and methods.
This barrier is intended to be temporary in-nature but needs to be capable of containing dust/airborne
debris and water spray or minor leaking. We are attempting to contain our activity and not impact the
existing MDR equipment.

4. Question: Please confirm existing housekeeping pads where equipment is demoed or relocated will
need to be wire sawed out flush with existing floor.
Answer: Demolished housekeeping pads shall be flush with the finished floor and patched as required
for a smooth surface.

5. Question: will new concrete pads required to be painted/coated? If so, please advise on product
Answer: Housekeeping pads shall be painted grey to match existing pads. All work shall be in
compliance with the MDACC standard specifications for painting.

6. Question: Is there an estimated project value or plan holders list available for the subject project that
you would be able to send me?
Answer: MD Anderson does not provide information of this type until an Agreement to perform the
services is executed with the best value respondent.

7. Question: After reviewing the Request for Proposal I went to the Current Bid website that was
provided in the RFP to download the construction document plans, however I did not have much luck
coming across them. Id greatly appreciate if you could please let me know where I might be able to
locate a copy of the plans.
