Month 1: SOCIAL
Outline:
Address marketing needs of company
Time for brainstorming with partner
Share ideas to the group
Choose ideas to further develop and implement
Form teams to develop ideas further (one idea per team)
Within teams, one leader will be chosen
Leader and members will first establish clear tasks for each person in group
Reflect: Discuss the benefits of the socialization strategies involved, then allow groups to
begin work on their topics. Encourage feedback to create positive change.
Month 2: EMOTIONAL
Outline:
Identify sources of stress & how it can impact health
Have employees share methods of coping with work related stress
Introduce employees to technological tools such as Calm.com or Pacifica as ways to
cope with stress (meditation & breathing)- as a group, complete a 3 minute Calm.com
meditation
Discuss forming support groups
Have employees write feedback/suggestions for improvements
Month 3: Physical
Outline:
Review feedback from clients & identify things that need to be improved
List possible methods of correcting those issues
Discuss role of physical health on productivity

The availability of healthier food options will be made available in the cafeteria and in
vending machines and break rooms
Teach about how to make nutritious choices & use resources (ex: ChooseMyPlate)

This curriculum map incorporates holistic health into a typical workplace setting. The
components of holistic health are incorporated into meetings that would otherwise still occur.
Social
incorporated. After outlining the marketing needs of the company, employees will be
encouraged to brainstorm ideas with a partner, requiring the practice of communication skills
including sharing ideas, listening, and acknowledging anothers ideas. Following the
presentation of these ideas to the whole group, teams will be formed to expand on the ideas and
create comprehensive plans. This opportunity will increase the teamwork skills of each member,
helping them to be successful in a social setting and develop a sense of unity (Why is teamwork
important?, 2017). Feedback will then be reviewed to determine what other types of social
Emotional
To address emotional needs of employees, the major issue of stress will be discussed.
Stress can have many negative health impacts, both physically and emotionally. Workplace
stress, when gone without workplace intervention or support, can also lead to depression or
anxiety disorders (Mental Health Information, 2017). These factors, as well as coping methods
will be the focus of the meeting. Employees will have the chance to share their own coping
methods, and methods like small increments of meditation and breathing exercises will be
introduced. Ideas on forming support groups within the company will also be explored and
offered to employees.
Physical
CURRICULUM MAP 6
Employees should be informed of the importance of physical health. Physical health can
reduce stress, increase productivity, and lead to an overall happier lifestyle. Productivity is
increased through physical health through the reduction of sickness and an increase in
stimulation (Worker Productivity, 2016). To begin making changes, employees will earn
rewards for walking or biking to and from work. Employees will also be encouraged to partake
in physical wellness activities on their own. Stretching at their desk or in their office will be
Spiritual
Supporting spiritual health is necessary to support holistic health. Studies have shown
that yoga-based programs have met the spiritual needs of participants as well as their physical
needs (Jasperson, 2014). These types of yoga programs will be made available in order to teach
yoga and allow employees to partake in yoga on their own. Employees will be able to participate
Nutritional
Proper nutrition plays a large role in overall health. Nutrition can reduce the risk of
several health impairments such as type 2 diabetes, obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, as
well as numerous others. Employees will be given the tools to know how to make good nutrition
choices as well as easy access to foods with high nutritious value. Additional concerns, ideas,
and questions will be taken from employees to ensure that their nutritious needs are being met.
Intellectual
The focus of the meeting will be on the companys educational program that offers
financial support to employees wishing to receive additional education. This investment will

benefit both the company and the employees who wish to pursue additional degrees or
certifications. The questions of employees will be taken to help them receive the necessary
