Depending on my prior practical teaching experience, MCT and MST feedbacks, I

have identified some areas that need to be developed, so I set up 3 goals

including the actions that need to be taken in order to meet the goals. So I will
justify the reasons for choosing these specific goals and using strategies that
support achieving the goal in a desired manner.

The Goals :
1. Use hand gestures to check the students understanding (short term- 2
weeks)
In previous PTP, I used questioning to check the students understanding but the
students were not motivated to answer me and so I couldnt take quick results.
Using hand gestures is one of the simplest ways to explain the basics of a
concept especially ones that include a diagram. This is because it is easy and you
get immediate results without the hassle of worksheets or technology.
Strategies:
- Have students give thumbs up or a thumb down.

Achieving this goal will take almost about 2 weeks since the students will need to
be trained to practice the strategies every day, they will also need to be taught
the above mentioned sign language to familiar and comfortable with it. Hence, I
will observe the students reaction to the strategy. A lso, I will need my MST
feedback to see the relevant reviews and to check how far I have proceeded with
my goal.

1- Create effective transition between activities to reduce misbehaving in the

classroom( medium term- 3-4 weeks)
I plan to implement this goal because I faced tremendous problems in my
lesson when I moved the students on from one activity to the next. Transition
is one of the most challenging aspects of teaching. The students in an early
age are generally unaware of the procedure and skills that they must learn to
benefit from the learning process and, so I managed my time more efficiently,
to let the lesson move smoothly and so that the children are well -rehearsed
with the lesson. As a result the class becomes more efficient, productive, and
positive.

Strategies:
- Clapping hands
- Using an alarm clock.
- Singing to indicate the next activity is about to start.

v. 2016-09-01 1
To implement this goal I will need 3-4 weeks. Committing to practice it every day
with the students, helping them to develop the skills, and proceed with my
lesson more smoothly. I will need some resources such as an alarm clock and
smart board in order to facilitate the learning of the transition and how quickly
to do each activity and arrange everything in a more orderly manner. Also, my
MST review is necessary because only that will inform me if the strategies are
indeed helping the students with the process of learning or if no headway is
being made and my strategy needs to change.

2- Become more acquainted with the technology in teaching lessons. (long term-
for this TP and next TP)
I selected this goal, because I have an unfortunate lack of initiating technology in
the classroom. According to my MST feedback; it said, You lack the ability to use
technology, technology is now universal, train yourself for the future. This goal
will give me an opportunity for me to develop the students digital citizenship
skills, and a way to simplify the way I do my work, have more interaction
between me and the students when I guide them on how to use technology, and
ultimately being more closer to students.

Strategies:
- Show videos to enhance students learning.
- Offer a number of Internet-based activities
- Use a smart board or projector to present the lesson

To achieve this goal I need at least a month or two, because it is an obvious

hurdle in some schools that are not prepared to use technology. So I have to
ensure that it is a daily routine, is offered by the schools and whether they are
ready to use it, I already mentioned the usage of technology in my lesson plan,
and the offering of internet based activities supporting the curriculum goals, and
supporting the students learning process.
