Strengths of the lesson:

Lesson plan sent in advance well thought through and detailed revised based on
suggestions and feedback

Class teacher absent I covered

T is very confident takes the register and reviews previous lesson elicits from stds what is
included in procedural text title, materials, how I will do it T encourages stds effort well
done good to reinforce effort

11: 36 T elicits and then gives the meta language transition do the stds need this
language

T presents PP and quickly goes through PP the pace is fast keeping the stds on task T
then checks the understanding asking stds questions - the stds are engaged and giving the
answers

T models her egg game and relates it to the procedural writing which she has just modelled

T is aware of stds who are not focused and calls the name of the std well done you are
very perceptive , pro active and take the necessary steps to allow the std to be able to focus

Group task presented quickly the teller, the writer and the doer

Stds get time to discuss the task and decide on roles they are encouraged to speak English.
Timer is used and the discussion is quick

T is monitoring and assisting the discussion.

T allows the stds to share their roles publicly ensuring that there is fairness very well
done

T hands down I am explaining the game good classroom management and taking
control

T devises a quick activity to ensure that the roles of one group is answered

The 4 activities are presented quickly I am not so sure but the stds seem to be keen and
seem to know what they are doing

T allocates games to groups in a fun way well done

The stds are engaged and excited to have the games allocated to them this is great to see

T encourages all the students to speak in Arabic and confronts a child I like the way you
apologized for your error too

11:59 T ensure that the key vocabulary is available for all to see they are large and clear
and can be used to scaffold the task

Time management is strong the stds all have timers that they can use and see how much
time is left

T is monitoring and scaffolding the learning and encouraging the writing

12:09 It is getting noisy but there is a real sense of purpose the learning environment is
active and exciting, the learners are having work!! Well done this is what learning is
about!!

Stds have the opportunity to practice their work which is important time has been
allocated for this - well done!!

12:13 Stds timers have stopped T settles the groups stds may not have finished T gives
them extra time

T introduces how to Present by modelling by introducing your name and your role well
done this is a good skill for the stds

Stds present their work - and act it out!! They are having fun

They stds have taken their work seriously and everyone is involved!! Super tasks and work

Plenary great What did you learn today and what did you like? Stds discuss in groups
Task is timed well done. T assists studs with speaking and aids them
Areas for development:

Your language is fluent and mainly accurate well done. You may need to slow your
language down and simplify your teacher talk to ensure that all your stds understand

There is a lot of teacher talk, it may be necessary but how could the task be presented
differently with clear teaching aims and more opportunities for student talk? They need the
practice. Could you get them to present/ elicit what each slide is about - in pairs before you
present it maybe?
I would like you to suggest that you work on developing questionings to enhance and extend
learning and take students beyond their ZPD this would be a good focus for next week.

Is there evidence of differentiation for different types of learners and different learning
styles? How can you ensure that all learners are involved in the task the evidence seems to
be very positive did you plan for this?

You might want to correct pronunciation otherwise there maybe fossilization

A = Exceptional, B = Very Good, c = Satisfactory, D = Marginal and F = Unsatisfactory
