Subject:
Measures against E020-0000/blank image due to coming off or breakage of the C-ring of the developing assembly.
Symptom
E020-0000 may occur or the image may not be printed on the output.
- E020-0000: The path between the sub hopper and the developing assembly is clogged with toner. The Developing
Assembly Toner Sensor (S25) detects the absence of toner, while the Sub Hopper Toner Sensor (S26) detects the
presence of toner.

Cause
The C-ring [1] of the developing assembly may come off or break because of the want of strength. From this event,
the 20Tgear [2] fixed with the C-ring is displaced, so that the driving force is not transmitted, and ends in the above
mentioned symptom.

Factory measure
Enhance the strength of the C-ring against coming off or breakage by changing its materials.
[A] is the previous type C-ring. The color is black.
[B] is the new type C-ring. The color is translucent.

Service work
If the above mentioned symptom has occurred, detach the developing assembly from the main body and replace the
C-ring with the new type one(FC0-5242-010).
