3.2 STATISTICAL TOOLS AND ANALYSIS

CHI-SQUARE
Chi-square is the sum of the squared difference observed (o) and the expected (e) data (or the
deviation, d), divided by the expected data in all possible categories.

Null hypothesis (Ho):

There is no association between age and potential level of wholesaler
Alternate hypothesis (H1):
There is association between age and potential level of wholesaler

a. 4 cells (33.3%) have expected count less than 5. The minimum expected count is 1.70.

Degree of Freedom= (r-1) *(c-1)

= (4-1)* (3-1)
= 3*2= 6
Calculated value = 104.202

Tabulated value = 12.592

INFERENCE:
Since, Cal (X) = 104.202> Tab (X)) = 12.592, so the Null hypothesis H0 is accepted and
alternative hypothesis H1 is rejected. Thus, there is no association between age and potential
level of wholesaler

3.3 ONE-WAY ANOVA CLASSIFICATION

Null hypothesis (Ho):
There is no significance difference between gender and top selling
brands
Alternate hypothesis (H1):
There is a significance difference between gender and top selling brands.

Calculated value= 0.27

Tabulated value = 3.09

F = F cal >F tab F= 3.09 > 0.27

Hence, the alternate hypothesis [H1] is accepted.
INFERENCE:
The tabulated value is greater than the calculated value of F. Hence, we accept the
alternate hypothesis and conclude that there is significance difference between gender and
frequently visit to Reliance Trends.
