Letter of Recommendation

Re: Ruby Sabina

To Whom It May Concern:

This serves to acknowledge the fact that I have had to the pleasure of knowing Ruby for the past
year. I have been honored to serve as her clinical nurse supervisor during her time of
employment at The George Washington University Hospital (GWUH). In this short period, she
has displayed a remarkable amount of knowledge, dedication, and tactfulness. She is a young
woman who endeavors to unleash her fullest potential and maintains an admirable amount of
professionalism and knowledge for the field of nursing.

Upon my arrival to GWUH it became very evident to me that Ruby was able to handle tough
duties without continuous supervision. She is an asset to the unit, and her coworkers find her
very approachable when they need help with a difficult task or even a second opinion. As a
charge nurse, she effectively manages the daily workflow of a 50-bed blended
(medical/oncology) unit. She possesses leadership qualities that will drive her to take the lead in
projects put forth to her at your institution. These traits; among numerous others, have led to
many achievements. In 2016, she received a very prestigious award at the hospital. The nurse
excellence award goes to a nurse that goes above and beyond her day to day duties, to provide
the highest level of patient and family centered care to their patients. She has also been awarded
employee of the month and is a Daisy Award Nominee. Ruby is a hard-working young woman;
her good judgement and mature outlook ensure a logical and practical approach to her endeavors.

It is without hesitation that I highly recommend Ruby Sabina to you with confidence. She will be
an asset to your school of nursing.

Sincerely,

Dexter McDowell Jr., BSN, RN, PCCN
