    a ASSOCIATION POLICY ON SHOP DRAWINGS ee “The allowing policy sas approved on Marck 21,1990 after long and rand work by the Consulting Practice Committee. SHOP DRAWINGS: 1 Deseription. The term “Shop Drawings" means drawings, iagrama illustrations, schedules, performance charts, brochures Sand other data which are provided by the Contractor tothe “Engineer of Record” to ilustate details of a portion of work 12. Purpose of Shop Drawings. Shop drawings are prepared to provide the engineer of record with information which assists in Fonfirming the Contractor understands the intent ofthe design Shd to provide the supplier, fabricator or manufacturer with Information which assist them in making the component. 43. Preparation of Shop Drawings. The Contractor should arran Pept of or ory aed shop dawings as caled for by the Contract Documents or as the engineer of record may reasonably request ‘Shop drawings are prepared by fabricators, supplies, equipment manufacturers, subcontractors and contractors or by ‘thers retained by these various groups. Tall necessary drawings and documents are prepared to represent the work covered by his contract with the Contractor. ‘They are prepared following a review of the drawings, \jeatfone and contract documents supplied by the engineer of Tecord and the resolution of any errors of requested changes. 4. Various Types of Shop Drawings £1 Drawings Requiring Stamping, “Ln Design Drawings, Structural elements, special connections cor equipment which have been designed specifically for Panibular appication by the engineer acting forthe fabricator, Eupplier or equipment manvlacturer shall be stamped ‘Th.2 Proprietary Items. The drawings for proprietary items such as open web steel joists should be stamped by the Engineer “ho prepored them and submitted with a Letter of Certification Indictting responsiblity for their selection. “i.3 Erector Documents, These are drawings or documents produced by the Erector or equipment installer to cover temporary Ridings, temporary bracing, falsework and erection sequence inatrucions.
