TITLE OF PROJECT

A Study on Freight forwarding with v. cargo movers

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Nowa-days Private Freight Forwarding Houses are essential for movement of goods from consignor
to lorry service. They do purely intermediary business. These Houses have no vehicle of their own.
These houses may carry on the work of booking and forwarding the goods, without owning or
operating any vehicle themselves. They work on a commission. These agencies provide godowns
covered by insurance and garage facilities. At present, Freight Forwarding Houses have a prominent
place in trade. Without the help of Freight Forwarding Houses the traders could not easily get a lorry
for their cargo movements. But, Freight Forwarding Houses also meet many problems in their day
to-day administration of the agencies, in labour administration and in undertaking onward
consignments and in giving delivery of the inward consignments.
