Dear Dr. Bruce,
English 360, Technical Writing, has been nothing short of a rewarding and influential class that allowed me to improve my writing and style as a student writer. This class has allowed me to accomplish all student learning outcomes (SLO) expected through my coursework assigned this semester with you. The pieces of work that will be demonstrating such accomplishments will be: my cover letter, resume, and Team Espresso Fixs group charter. This letter will further explain each of these assignments and how each has harbored the different SLO accomplishments. To begin, this cover letter satisfies SLOs #1 Rhetorical Focus, #3 Persuasion, and #5 Language and Design. This letter is written with the rhetorical focus of being written to Professor Bruce in formal letter, to also persuade as to how I have met all six student learning outcomes over this semester. In addition written in the formal language and short paragraph design to make reading and understanding from each work simple. Next assignment is the resume. The resume directly influences SLOs #1 Rhetorical Focus, #3 Persuasion, #4 Organization, and #5 Language and Design. My personal resume allowed me to write with the rhetorical focus of formality and professionalism with the purpose to convince you, Professor Bruce, that I was the best suit to be Photography Manager on an iFixit team. In doing so, I was able to write with a focus along with persuasion as my goal. The resume required to be organized in a navigable and clean outline giving simplistic yet detailed wording to best express myself. The resume was an important piece that allowed me to tailor my own experiences to exemplify how such makes me best for Photography Manager. I upheld professional language and design throughout the resume to express my confidence. Minor text Team Espresso Fixs Group Charter accomplished SLOs #1 Rhetorical Focus, #2 Ethical Citation, and #6 Collaboration. With the charter having the focus to inform our audience of our exact objectives and goals to be met, it allowed us to write effective with purpose. The group charter gave opportunity to improve ethical citation skills by incorporating relevant citations into our paragraphs to strengthen our research and credibility. Lastly it helped with collaboration skills as a team, allowing each member to communicate comments and feedback through Google Docs to improve specific areas, grammatical errors, and sentence structures. All mentioned assignments completed in English 360 exemplify the accomplishments of all six Student Learning Outcomes Dr. Bruce has outlined for the class. Upon stepping back and reflecting on them all, I am confident as a writer I have strengthen, improved, and technically grown in my style effectively and professionally. I am very proud of my accomplishments and progress, in addition stand behind my efforts as they model my student outcomes in this class. I certainly hope you feel the same as you read this letter and review my portfolio. Sincerely, Alexis Gamez MW English 360-01
