Round Robin Charts

-This strategy involves passing charts among group to asses understanding. Each group 4 or 5
students begin with a chart and some markers. The group records an answer to an open-ended
question. They can also share knowledge they have on atopic covered in class. Once the students finish
with the chart, they pass it on to the next group. Once every group has worked on every chart,
responses re discussed as a class.

3. Strategic Question
- Questioning strategies may be used with individuals, small groups or the entire class. Effective
formative assessment strategies involve asking students to answer higher-order question such as
why and how. Higher order questions require more in depth thinking from the students. They can
help the teacher discern the level and extent of the students understanding.

3 INNOVATIVE FORMATIVE ASSESMENT TECHNIQUES

1. Personalized Instruction
-Effective way to avoid the great difference in grades among students.
2. Formative Assessment Using Games
-As we know game based learning plays an important role in education, educators are showing
much interest to implement games that provide students with a meaningful learning experiences.
3. Socrative Formative Assessment
-Socrative is a cloud-based student response system which allows educators to easily create
polls, quizzes and other educational exercises for their class and monitor their students responses and
progress in real time.

2 INNOVATIVE SUMMATIVE ASSESMENT TOOLS (HOTS)

1. Tests- a procedure intended to establish the quality, performances, or reliability of something,

especially before it is taken into widespread use.

3 INNOVATIVE FORMATIVE ASSESMENT ACTIVITIES

1. Analyzing Student Work

-a great deal of information can be learned from students homework, tests, and quizzes. This is
specially so if the students are required to explain their thinking. When the teachers take the time to
analyze student work, they gain knowledge about:
A students current knowledge, attitudes and skills about subject matter
Strength, weakness, and learning styles
Need for further, or special, assistance

This approach lets the teachers modify their instruction to be more effective in the future.
