makes navigation and discovery fluid and easy.

Ideas for how the tool The tool can be used by students to create personal study tools that range from flash
can be used in PK-12 cards to mini-tests that allow students to put information in a way that they can best
understand and utilize to best meet their needs, whether that be a small game or a
multiple choice test. This is useful for all grade levels. For younger students in
elementary school, the websites game Gravity allows for a bit of fun while students
are timed on answering questions. The game has a student enter the correct answer to
a question written a meteor in order to destroy it and continue playing. In conjunction
to this, the teacher can also use the website to display to the class for games or in
class review tests. The test and match options can be used on a overhead projector to
help the whole class participate in higher grades that need more review and less
attention grabbing detail. Quizlet lends itself well to any discipline and has many
uses to keep the website useful and fresh.

Positives and Positives:

challenges of using the The website allows for the export, printing, and sharing of data sets.
tool The site also has a fairly wide range of study tools, testing, and games to
help approach a single data set in many different ways to help better
understand and retain the information.
The website is great for personal and class wide use.
As a teaching tool, the site offers a lot of reward for creativity on both the
teacher and students part.
Negatives:
The site is nicely colored and put together, but requires a login to access.
Assuring the students enter a thorough enough, or standard, data set would
be the hardest part of using this tool.

Name of the tool Poll Everywhere

Where to access this You can get started at Polleverywhere.com.

tool (web address)

Brief instructions of Poll Everywhere is a tool that teachers can use to present a question or problem to
how to use the tool students and students can send in their answers via their phones. As an instructor you
simply have to set up an account with Poll Everywhere and then give your username
code to the students to log in to participate in the poll. Poll Everywhere has an app
that you can download however people who do not have smartphones can also
participate by texting a specific number.

Ideas for how the tool Ideas for use would obviously depend on the subject area but teachers for Spanish 1
can be used in PK-12 could present a question such as, What are the indirect object pronouns? Students
could then send in their answers which would then allow the teacher to see how well
they understood that specific lesson.

Positives and Some positive are that it can be very helpful for teachers to be able to gauge the real
challenges of using the level of their students understanding without embarrassing any of them. This is
tool possible because answers are anonymous. It also very easily involves and engages all
students equally since shy students arent required to speak out loud and the louder
students wouldnt necessarily drown anyone else out when using this tool. Some
negatives might be that most questions should only require short answers which
more or less means that they wouldnt require higher level thinking. There would be
ways around this but the strength of Poll Everywhere would be for memorization and
recall.

tool (web address)

Brief instructions of WikiSpaces is essentially an online classroom. Students can blog, work
how to use the tool collaboratively, etc. The teachers can measure participation and the contribution of
students, especially when doing group projects.

Ideas for how the tool WikiSpaces would probably be more useful in a high school or middle school
can be used in PK-12 setting rather than elementary school. For example, high school English student can
keep a blog with entries about their assigned readings each week.

Positives and Positives:

challenges of using the This website is cloud based, so there is no leaving of the assignment on a flash drive

since it is available from just about anywhere with an internet connection. Students
can also work with each other without having a face-to-face meeting, making it
easier for students to agree on a meeting time within their schedules.
Challenges:

Another challenge may be getting the students to become excited about a project, and
taking the time to use and learn a new website instead of using traditional
