Peter Lange:

1. The writer chose to incorporate their interviewee half way through the essay to
get a perspective from inside the community. They approached it by saying to
figure out the community, they had to interview that person. By saying this, the
can use ethos to make the reader believe them more.
2. They incorporated their artifact when the subject shifted to how the community
communicates. In the artifact it uses ethos but could do more to include actual
writing from the post.
3. The writer incorporated feedback from previous responses by going into more
depth of the artifacts but could go a little further.
4. The writer has done so well but could go a little further into their artifact/interview
and provide a post as evidence.

Jia Joo:

1. He talks about his interview with his friend in the middle of the essay. He includes
that his friend had to request to join the group on Facebook and members have
to be active. This uses ethos as an effect to convince readers about his
information.
2. He uses the artifact to talk about how the community communicates with each
other. He talks about the lexis they use and this give a ethos effect to help
readers understand more.
3. He talks more about his interview and artifact but should use evidence from them
in the essay.
4. He provides a very good idea of how the discourse community works and what it
does. To give readers a better perspective he can quote evidence from his
interview and artifact.
