I chose Faith Ringgold as my author and illustrator to spotlight because she is an incredible artist
and activist for diverse communities. She is an illustrator, painter, sculpture, and has even tried
visual arts performing. She is a women of many talents who uses her talents to show others her
story and the story of people her readers may not have read before. She does a really good job of
not portraying a single story but uses her art to speak about real issues going on in the world.
